Sandy should say "you're welcome" when I thank her
I love this concept, and the fact that you're giving personality to an email bot. I've emailed her a couple times to thank her for reminding me of important appointments, but she doesn't understand my message. It would be really cool if she understood "thank you" or "thanks" and replied with a cute "you're welcome." I dunno if it would be worth the extra processing and load, but it would make the service that much more endearing.
Thank you, Sandy!

Inappropriate? With an on or off option, this could be interesting flavour for the project...and if it gets annoying you just turn it off. You could do languages for fun. You write "Merci", and she writes "Je vous en prie!"
I’m pondering

Inappropriate?I did notice that Sandy is unfazed by being asked nicely to do things, such as:
Please remind me blah in 3 minutes. - works
Gobble remind me blah in 3 minutes. - doesn't parse
However, putting please at the end doesn't work:
remind me about nothing in 4 minutes, please. - creates an item called "Nothing please"
I’m silly

Inappropriate?Totally agree with this. They do such a good job of making Sandy seem like a real entity that we even use female pronouns when referring to 'her'.
So the urge to be nice and show appreciation when she reminds us of stuff, send her a thanks note, is really quite strong. But she gets all confused and this reminds us she's just a computer routine.
I'd love it if she wrote back and said, 'no problem', or 'don't mention it'!
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Neat observation, samrolken; I'll have to try addressing her with "please" now!
I do agree that Sandy would be even more lifelike if she could respond to returned or initiated pleasantries. Also, the idea that such a function could be turned off is a great one as well---perhaps that switchability could be extended to cover the multiple-language greetings that she currently does, too? That way she can even mimic being sensitive to your mood...not a small thing for a really good assistant to be able to manage!
I’m enjoying Sandy's possibilities

Inappropriate?I had a question about wether to respond to an email or not with a cute little "you're welcome". :)
