Sandy was not reading her email for a period of time this evening after not responding well to an upgrade. She's now back on the job and plowing through her email inbox as I write this.
We work hard to ensure that Sandy's around whenever you are (and even when you're not), reading and responding to each and every email message within a few seconds at most. I apologize for any delayed response you may have experienced in her responding to your email.

We seem to have had a problem with a load balancer (a system that routes email from the outside world to our email servers) which caused some portion of email to Sandy to be deferred.
In other words, your email is still awaiting delivery, but with things flowing again, Sandy will respond to your messages just as quickly as she possibly can.
Obviously we don't take this sort of thing lightly and we'll be making sure that it doesn't happen again.
I apologize for the email delay and any issue this might have caused you.

A quick update: all incoming email is once again flowing smoothly into Sandy's inbox and she's reading and responding to them as quickly as she's able. She should have the entire lot handled within the next 20 minutes or so.

Hi, folks!
Sandy will be taking a quick break *tomorrow* (Friday, December 14th, 9:30-10:00am PST (Los Angeles/US time) while we upgrade some of our server infrastructure.
You should feel free to continue emailing Sandy with things to remember and remind you about. Your mail will be queued up, awaiting her return, at which point she'll catch up as quickly as she can (somewhere on the order of a few minutes).
During this brief maintenance period:
* Your email will be received (it _won't_ be bounced or lost), but there will be a delay in Sandy dealing with it.
* You won't receive a reply from Sandy right away when you send her email.
* You won't be able to visit Sandy's site at http://iwantsandy.com.
* You won't be able to jott to Sandy.
* You should be able to twitter to Sandy, but there will be a delay in her dealing with and responding to your tweets.
* Anything you email or twitter involving relative time (ex. "in 15 minutes" or "in an hour") will be off by a few minutes.
* Reminders that were set for this time period will be delayed by a few minutes.
We've had Sandy add a banner to every page (for those logged in) of her site with a note about this scheduled maintenance so that everyone will be sure to know about it.
I'll be posting an update under both Updates and Status topics on Get Satisfaction tomorrow morning to let you all know what's what.
I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you and assure you that we'll keep things as brief as possible.

I'm thrilled to announce the return of Stikkit and Sandy, both as chipper as can be after some minor backplane surgery.
Sandy has completely caught up on her email, Twitter direct messages, and any reminders you had for around this time should only have been a few minutes delayed.

Sandy took a time-out for a bit and stopped reading her email this morning. We're looking into just what threw her for a loop and will make sure she's able to deal with such things going forward.
She caught up on all of her messages within about about 2-3 minutes and is now plowing through her email within milliseconds of its arrival.

After a longer bout of maintenance than we'd have liked, Sandy will be back in business in the next few minutes. She's just tidying up a few things, stretching, and getting ready to tackle her email backlog (we're expecting record time).
I sincerely apologize for the disruption; we do our best to schedule maintenance down-times as much in advance as possible, but sometimes things come up, at which time we work as diligently as humanly possible to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
I'll be posting more shortly about some of the latest bits and bobs we've whipped up for you, but for now we're going to get Sandy back into gear and let her get to work.
