UPDATE for May 5th, 2008
Howdy,
We've had such incredible feedback on last week's big update [http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy...], it's been all we could do just to take it all in, listen to what you liked and didn't, and find the odd bits and bobs we managed to overlook. Thanks to all of you who not only took the time to explore some of the nooks and crannies of the update, but took the trouble to write up your results, make suggestions, and share your experiences with us and your neighbors.
Today's update addresses much of what you pointed out — with more tweaks and twiddles to come — and continues to build on the web interface work we've been doing over the past couple of weeks.
There are bug fixes and improvements aplenty, but perhaps most notable is something many of you have been asking for for some time...
=====
NEW: Inline action links
You asked for them, and you've got them! You'll now find inline links for those actions you perform several times a day — editing, deleting (forgetting), and archiving (along with the more obvious to-do toggling we introduced last week). You can still click any item's name to see more detail and find links to less common actions, but you no longer have to do so just to edit, delete, or archive. You know what they say: a click in time saves nine! :-)
=====
NEW: Archived and repetition indicators
We've been finding some of the niceties in the new web interface we've been working on too useful not to share and so will be introducing a couple-three of them with each update along the way.
In this update you'll notice that repeating appointments, reminders, and to-dos now have a spiral repetition indicator to call attention to themselves: it's a subtle but surprisingly helpful way to spot those daily, weekly, monthly, and other repeating events.
We've also made it more obvious which items you've had Sandy archive for you; look for the suitcase indicator alongside the repetition indicator.
And while we were at it, we moved the reminder indicator alongside its two new friends, giving you an at-a-glance view of what's upcoming, what's coming around again, and what's safely tucked away in Sandy's archive.
=====
ADDED: Your stuff > Archives
Speaking of archived items... Thanks to all of you who pointed out that it wasn't obvious how to browse to archived items there's now an "Archives" link (you'll find it under the "Your stuff" menu on Sandy's web site) that brings your archived stuff to within easy reach. (Tip! Bring archived items back to the forefront by clicking their inline "unarchive" link.) Visit your archived stuff at http://iwantsandy.com/archives .
=====
TWEAKED: Scheduled to-dos rejoin appointments
You'll be pleased to see scheduled to-dos (those set for a particular date or time) once again appearing alongside your appointments when you browse Your stuff > Appointments [http://iwantsandy.com/appointments].
=====
TWEAKED: "Show past" comes back from, well, the past
An obvious omission (so obvious it slipped by us unnoticed) from last week's update was the "Show past" link you'll need to go back in time to old appointments, reminders, and scheduled to-dos. You'll find the "Show past" link back where it belongs at the top-right of your Appointments list at http://iwantsandy.com/appointments .
=====
FIXED: British Summer Time
UK folks will find that Sandy has loped back into British Summer Time. Thanks, Zu [http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy...] for pointing out that she had sprung a little too far forward for your needs.
Onward and upward!

Inappropriate?Shweet! :) One question though, if I point my mouse on the bell icon (reminder indicator) should the reminder date/time show up in the tool tip? or not?
-
Inappropriate?I don't like the inline action links, or at least their placement. I use a web clipping on Leopard's dashboard to keep my daily digest accessible, and the increased vertical space (almost double!) is a problem. Web clippings don't have scrollbars, and even if they did I prefer to see my list at a glance. Is there another way to do this?
(But on a positive note, I've really enjoyed the recent updates to recurring to-dos. That's a wonderful feature!)
I’m afraid I won't see overdue to-dos way down there at the bottom.
-
Inappropriate?These are some nice additions and all, but is there any chance we could get lookup working in gmail sometime soon?
-
Inappropriate?Sandy's helpers, I found a bug. It turns out that the "sort=date" option either doesn't work correctly, or it's used inappropriately. It excludes all unscheduled items (items without a date) and items tagged as @done.
See this bug. http://getsatisfaction.com/iwantsandy... -
Inappropriate?I don't like the inline action links either - they take up too much space.
-
Inappropriate?Since I use Remember the Milk for tasks/to-dos (we'll see if this continues if I can update Sandy from inside Sunbird) I don't have a problem at all with the inline action links. I was getting annoyed with having to go through so many clicks just to quickly edit something.
But at the same time, I can understand why people wouldn't want them. So an option to turn them off would be nice.
I’m drooling over the possibilities
-
Inappropriate?Thanks for the pointer on "show past". However, that link is only visible when I'm viewing Appointments. The problem is that to-dos can also be considered "past" and I can't find any way to view past to-dos in the To-Do view or the "Any Type" view. Am I missing something?
I'm having some trouble trusting Sandy already and this is causing a bunch of my to-dos to vanish.
I’m worried
-
Hi Kate. First of all, don't worry — nothing's being lost: it's all about making sure that the various views are showing all they should. As far as your past to-dos are concerned, if they're still to-do they should be showing up in pink (denoting that they are overdue). If they're done, they'll disappear from your to-do list, but can be brought back into the mix by clicking the "Show done to-dos" link. If you do that, are they not appearing? —R -
Inappropriate?Thanks. I know Sandy isn't losing or deleting things... but I don't trust that she's always showing me everything she should.
I looked carefully at one of my past to-dos (http://www.iwantsandy.com/688738). I was wrong about the To-Dos page - it does show up there. But where it doesn't show up is on the page you get to by clicking "Your Stuff" or "Any type". And that's the page I always use to manage my items. I can't see any way to include past to-dos on that page.

Inappropriate?I have another, separate, question about this release and the repetition indicator. In what view does this indicator appear? I have some "notes" and "to-dos" that are tagged @weekly, but they're not recurring properly, nor do I see a repetition icon anywhere. Example: http://www.iwantsandy.com/1155800
I’m lacking the time to spend sorting this out
