Update to Shared Scheduled Items

How does one go about updating shared scheduled items? I've tried sending an update to Sandy, cc'ing the shared recipient.

Sandy updated my calendar, and told me that she had shared the detail of the item with my friend. Yet, the item was never updated on my friend's calendar.

My friend is setup with auto-accept, so their was no confirmation required.
