Updates to reminder titles parsed strangely
Hi all,
Sandy seems to do something strange with the last portion of reminder titles. This has been happening fairly often lately, but the instance that just happened was short and easy to post.:-) This was performed through Outlook Express 6.

Subject: (via Jott) Remind me tomorrow afternoon to water the bamboo plants.

I added this to the calendar:
#1 Mon, 12/24 3:00pm Water the bamboo plants.
- email reminder at 2:52pm
[Exactly correct; I just realized that I meant today, not Monday...I was jotting after midnight! So...]

Which is where I left it. Puzzling, hm? She seems to do this fairly regularly when I reschedule reminders, but she doesn't seem to do it when I update list items, even long items. (And good work, IWS team, on how Sandy handles lists! She's doing much better with those.)

I did find a workaround that seems to be consistently effective: I can use quotes around my new title, and then Sandy becomes willing to erase the entire old title so it can be replaced cleanly. But that's a little cumbersome to remember to do.
As long as I'm mentioning that, though, here's a possibly related glitch that I am also finding consistently: if I do use quotation marks in content that replaces a previous title, then they must be placed around my entire intended new title, not only any portion I don't want her to misinterpret as a date or other command. This is in contrast to initial creation of an event by email, during which she appears to have no problem recognizing both quoted and unquoted portions as all being intended for inclusion in the new event's title.
Interestingly, though, in specific instances when she's whimsically truncating my requested new title because I didn't quotation-mark the whole thing, she always will completely remove the old title! So at least it appears that she recognizes incoming quote marks as a clear sign to get out her eraser and start the whole title fresh, whether or not she and I exactly agree on what the new one should be.
