what happens to shared items when they are marked @done?
I frequently send Sandy items to remind myself and my wife.
Today my wife marked something as @done.
However, it disappeared from my list of items.
I'd like for it to show as having been marked complete and I'd like an email letting me know that she marked it as done.
Right now I can view the item by clickin on the link in the original email, and can see it if I check the "past" checkbox in the web site.
If I had made the item a @todo would it have appeared as done?

Howdy,
I am glad to hear you are looking forward to this -- I know I can't wait for it myself!
I am currently working on "remind Pat..." or "remind pat@example.com..." with Sandy prompting you when Pat updates the item or Pay when you update the item to propagate changes to those with whom it has been shared -- the latter bit to follow a little later.
Along the same lines you will be able to share any existing item through the web interface and also by email using something like "Share this with Pat..."
We have a few things in the queue before that, so I don't have a release date scheduled as yet. If I had but two more of me, this is something I would immediately assign to one of the other me's, I assure you ;-).
I very much appreciate both your interest and patience -- and of course your ongoing input!

Inappropriate?Heya omars,
Well, if your wife told *her* Sandy to mark a todo that you'd shared with her as @done, it should have done so only for *her* details. Yours should have been unchanged. If she happened to reply to your Sandy from your email address however, Sandy would assume it was you and mark *your* todo as @done. If that was not the case, please do let me know and I'll take a look to see what happened.
And yes, if you change the item back to @todo, the @done tag will be removed and it should once again show up in your lists.
Thanks again for writing in, we appreciate it!
Best,
David

Inappropriate?Oh, wow, that's interesting. I didn't even realize that there is a concept of my Sandy and her Sandy, but that makes sense.
Although I'm not sure it will make sense to my wife.
I'd love it if there was a way for us to share todo items etc and when either one of us marks it as complete, it would be marked as complete on both of our lists, and that we'd get notified.
In other words, I'd love it if both our Sandy's were friends, and could tell each other when one of our shared items was completed and then let us know. That would rock. -

You can do that, to a certain degree, by adding your wife's email address as a secondary address. But then, from Sandy's perspective, you and your wife would be the same person.

Request noted. You're not the first. We'll be taking a hard look at this suggestion before long.
Thanks again for writing in, and for putting Sandy to work for you!
Best,

Inappropriate?Hi Omars,
It absolutely should work the way you expect it to. Sandy should not just be sharing, but also be offering to update to-dos (and events, etc.) for everyone with whom the to-do was shared in the first place.
Rather than any sort of tomfoolery being expected on your part to make updates work seamlessly, or any need of understanding "my Sandy" vs. "your Sandy" vs. "her Sandy", we're working on it on our end.
We will, of course, report back when we've managed some progress on it.

Inappropriate?Sweet, thanks... looking forward to that.

Inappropriate?Rael, thanks for sharing you views on this. I've attempted the sharing function and I agree that it should be more seamless. In addition to sharing from an initial email, it would be nice to just select items, or tags on the web site and mark those as shared with selected friends, and then any changes to those items in any of the shared accounts would be reflected in all of them automatically, unless the recipient has chosen to have an unlinked copy of the item.

Inappropriate?+1 for this. It seems like you guys are moving towards Sandy over stikkit as a collaboration tool and this is a key feature, especially since email is used to share tasks and update meetings. Right now, if I share a meeting with someone and they want to change the meeting time there is no way for Sandy to update for me and the other person, which is a great feature of stikkit. Why not use the trigger-word "share" just like in stikkit?
What's the ETA on this?
