Will I be able to add Sandy to Google Talk anytime soon?
I use google talk on my phone and my computer and the instant feedback of a sandy bot would be the closest thing to a real personal assistant that I could afford.
the logging features built in would make this nice too.

Step 1. Go to http://twitter.com/devices
Step 2. Add twitter@twitter.com on google talk
Step 3. There's no step three! There's no step three!

amazin!

Inappropriate?Hi (again) JOD,
(I just twittered a response to you on this same topic -- assuming this is the same you, that is.)
There's no reason you can't set up GTalk as one of your Twitter IM devices [http://twitter.com/devices], follow Sandy, and you're golden.

Inappropriate?OMFG!

Inappropriate? You guys are seriously amazing. I don't even use a calendar program anymore. Sandy has replaced all of that crap.

Inappropriate?lol! i'm http://twitter.com/johnoday

Inappropriate?FYI -
I was also able to get this working with gmails built in chat.
I’m pretty stoked about this

Inappropriate? What about people that don't want the world to know what's going on with them? I mean I use twitter but I am not going to put "remember to go to the store and buy tampons for the wife" on my twitterings. :/
How about straight jabber integration?
I wrote one myself in a day.
-
Sandy uses "private" messages (ie direct) to Twitter - it doesn't go on your public "twitterings" -
Inappropriate?Currently twitter does not even integrate with google apps for private domains either. You MUST have a @gmail.com address or it won't integrate with GTalk.
-
Inappropriate?Oh oops I just realized that's what the direct message is all about. I haven't used that yet. Oh well it was fun writing the bot.
-
Opps I just read this after responding above, oh well it was fun being indignant for just a moment ;) -
Inappropriate?Twitter doesn't recognize the Gtalk people from your private domain? That doesn't seem right.
I’m waiting for this feature.

Inappropriate?Hi Dysinger,
We have actually been fiddling about with straight-through Jabber/AIM interaction. The connective tissue is -- as you mentioned -- rather simple.
We just want to be sure that we have Sandy being as reachable as possible as reliably as possible rather than suffering from a too-many-moving-parts issue (for Sandy and for us).
I talk to Sandy quite extensively through Twitter these days using the direct message functionality, but agree with you that I'd love to be able to have more immediate and direct chats with her (and not have to worry about letting everyone know that I need a reminder to wear pants if I happen to mistype).

Inappropriate? The workaround of being able to "chat" with Sandy via twitter is nice, but I don't want to get in the habit of typing "d s r" before each IM I have with other people. Having a Sandybot to chat with would make the personal assistance experience absolutely complete. This is great!
I’m excited
-
Inappropriate? The twitter bot is also limited to 140 characters through IM. It would be nice to have a Sandy bot that could give me a list of all my @todo's.
I’m confident we'll see this soon.
-
Inappropriate?also twitter / IM integration is currently down... how is everyone else dealing with this?!? I want sandy back!
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Twitter has been down for almost 2 months now. I really miss being able to add things to Sandy through IM.
Are we anywhere close to having a dedicated Sandy bot? Y'all can define close and decide if you want to let us know what that definition is.
If not, have you considered using ping.fm? I'm currently using it to update Twitter and Facebook status. It's in Beta right now, but they're not hiding the Beta sign up code at all.
Best of all, I can use AIM, GTalk, Yahoo!, Windows Live, iGoogle Gadget, or the Facebook, iPhone or Mobile apps to update from there.
It's something to look into.
I’m sad, but it's Twitter's fault and not Sandy's.
-
Inappropriate?Would love an update on this as Twitter IM is still down!
-
Inappropriate?Me too! I noticed almost immediately that my productivity went down when Twitter stopped accepting IMs... and it took me this long to get back to using Sandy on a somewhat regular basis. I still don't tell her everything I need her to remember, because it's just not as easy as it used to be.
