Would you support a '2007-12-25' date format?
This is the ISO 8601 notation.

Inappropriate? You can create events using this format right now. Do you mean you want it as a setting to accompany the US and European formats?

Inappropriate?I want it as a setting. Using the examples from the guide I want to use something like this:
Specific date: 2007 May 14, 20070514, 2007-05-14, 05-14
Specific date and time: 20070514T1715, 2007-05-14T1715, 05-14T1715
Date range: 05-14/16, 10-14/10-22
Time range: T1715/03-01T0630 (today at 5:15pm through March 1 at 6:30 am) -
Inappropriate?Please also mind "Se Germans"!
05/14/2007 would be written here 14.05.2007, in short form 14.05.07, in even shorter form 14.05.
(Besides 2007-05-14, which is a somewhat new DIN norm, AFAIK based on the ISO norm mentioned above).
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I would love this. In fact, I'll take it a bit further. There should be two options on the settings page (http://iwantsandy.com/settings/datetime) One for how you write dates (controls how Sandy reads what you write to her), and one for how Sandy should *display* dates (for use in her emails and on the website). They should both have at least 3 options: (12-25-2007, 25-12-2007, 2007-12-25) You might have more options such as separating the numbers with dashes (-) or slashes (/).
I didn't know that Sandy already understood dates written in the 2007-12-25 format. I didn't see that anywhere. Because the settings page only had two options, I assumed Sandy could only understand two formats, and would understand only whichever format I selected.
I will also point out that, when reading emails from Sandy, and on the website, some items display the year, and some items don't. It's not entirely clear what the requirement is to display or not display the year. This hasn't been a problem so far. When the date is in the future, usually the result of me trying to have Sandy schedule something for a date in the past, the year is always displayed. Which is a lifesaver. But when investigating this issue I found this aspect very odd. If I were to guess, it seems that only the events coming up in the next few months are displayed without a year.
Because of international issues, it makes so much sense to use the largest to smallest format. The year, then month, then day, then time if necessary. That way, no matter what the country a person is from, the date is clear. (The dates I use are read by many people, including those from several foreign countries.) Also, when naming files, or other items, it makes them "alphabetize" correctly. A lot of software releases, etc, use this format for just this reason. It's become such a habit, I use it all the time. -
Inappropriate?I was also thinking right after signing up to IWS "Why no ISO date format?". It is the most common date format today and ignores country specifics.
