How about Sandy providing statistics about how many things were marked as done, by tag? This would allow me, for example, to track how many "networking" appointments I had during the past month. How about, also, "weighting" todos, so that I get points when marking them done, and doing so, get closer to a (more actionable) real goal?
In order to save money on SMS charges (yet still get my Twitter Reminders in SMS and be able to snooze them), I'd like to be able to independently toggle whether Sandy sends confirmations and reminders to me through Twitter, ideally on the Twitter Settings page, similar to what Remember the Milk offers. (I would still like to receive Confirmations through email, though, so I don't want to turn them off altogether.)
Sandy should be able to do things for me online. She's my assistant, and she lives online. It'd be natural for her. I should be able to give her my login and password to a site, and she should be able to use the service. There's a ton of things that she could do for me.
Sandy should be able to:
*) track packages (Fedex.com)
*) monitor plane flights (tell me if it's delayed)
*) update my Twitter account
*) monitor my Ebay auctions
*) work with Facebook
*) shop for things on Amazon
I'd love to see some "Sandy addons" that can do some of these things. Just like Jott has "Jott links", Sandy could have "Sandy links" that would allow her to interact with online services. In fact, there should be a way that people can create new addons for Sandy, just like all those Jott links and Firefox extensions. Having Sandy be able to use other online services would make her quite the useful assistant.
I'm a large fan of Sandy's "New" item entry popup gizmo. Email's good, but sometimes it's just a pain.
When I'm entering something, say
r Go get a cup of coffee in 20 minutes. @coffee @break @zentime
When adding tags, I'd love it if Sandy would ping my set of tags that already exist as I type them, and suggest existing ones - think google suggest or remember-the-milk tag entry.
I should be able to give sandy my ebay account and she can look look at the auctions that I'm watching and remind me when they're ending via email/sms.
I just took a quick look at "Posti.ca", which is kinda like sandy but only for notes. Have you given any thought to rearranging Sandy's "Notes" interface to something like this? I really like the Post-it visualization of nodes.
How about having Sandy display the contents of a list on her web interface? I frequently use lists to, er, make various lists, be it "call someone" or "upload the following" or "add the following to x" etc. So what I wanted to suggest is having a setting that tells Sandy to list out the full contents of a list in the web interface, similar to the bullets she uses on my daily email digest.
Sandy is great. If she could just do a couple more things that some personal assistants can do, she could be even better. Top of my list would be for Sandy to bring me a document at an appointed time, and "sit" with me to work on it. Simple version - Sandy (via some FF extension or Prism perhaps) launches any web URL (ie. any Google Doc or other online doc) in a reminder. More complex version: Sandy also launches local files. Gold medal: Sandy optionally locks everything else on my computer for the time we're working together (with a further optional "interrupt" task button").
How about a setting up a Sandy status RSS feed? If Sandy is having issues, then it would be good to informed of this before the fact (i.e. when you check your RSS reader, say), than after discovering something isn't working as it should.
Conversion Buttons: I'd like buttons for converting one entry (Appt/Todo/Contact/etc.) into another; for example, I may have a note that I'd like to convert to a todo without having to retype it.
Could it be possible to set Sandy to remind me of something at a random time? People seem to glaze over daily reminders if they come at the same time everyday.
I love Sandy; I couldn't manage without her. But without disloyalty, I sometimes think it would be fun to have some other choices of personal assistant: a faithful robot companion, say, or a lab-coated Igor (are my geek credentials showing?). . . each scripted differently, of course, but on the same basic model. I think people like to personalize, even just a little. And when I realize how "real" Sandy is to me, and to the people who know she works for me, I wonder if you couldn't generate even more loyalty by playing to that anthropomorphizing impulse.
I would like a button to postpone items on my todo list on the iwantsandy site. Perhaps that had a dialog asking how long to postpone or perhaps a duration set in preferences. I'd probably do 24hrs.
I'm tired of losing functionality of Sandy because Twitter is acting up.
Sandy is great. But Twitter isn't. From looking through their help stuff, it seems that XMPP is the first thing that gets shut off when there's a problem.
But this is about Sandy.
Are there any plans on using something a bit more reliable? Because this is just getting ridiculous.
I saw someone asking about an AIM Bot for Sandy. It made me think about those bots and how you can ask them questions like finding movie times and numbers for theaters, etc. I also know google has a sms text address to ask for locations and numbers to restaurants, bars, etc. What if Sandy did something like this with text or email? I think it'd be great 411 type service.
The layput of the Home page is great but if you want it to show more than 1 day then you have to put up with calendar items on one screen then everything else on another. Could we not have calendar items in with everything else somewhere?
Either a drop down on the home page (which gets remembered) to set time or have in the existing dropdowns have "All including...xxx" where xxx is the other drop down list
Can we use a private url (like the one used to subscribe via iCal) to subscribe via rss? Wouldn't this solve the problem of not being able to use the rss feed with google reader or igoogle?
I want to be able to see my todo's on my igoogle page.
It would be neat if Sandy could remind me of contact information when reminding me about things relating to specific contacts... Perhaps better explained by example:
"Remember Jon Doe wants to meet on monday"
When Sandy reminds me on monday, she would also send me Jon Doe's contact information (if available), as if I had sent a "Lookup Jon Doe". Maybe this would need a special syntax, or Sandy could intelligently find contacts in commands like the one above.
Currently there is only a Next page link at the top right. So I scroll down my list, and then have to scroll back up to get to the next page (or even to see if there is a next page).
While you're at it, perhaps you just want to duplicate the whole row of options (Hide To-Dos, Hide Past, etc.) at the bottom?
