Inappropriate?Hi Jessica,
When you attempt to submit a post to us, our system goes to your blog and verifies that your post contains the exact link specified in the opportunity before allowing submission.
This can fail due to extra spaces in the link and is case sensitive. However, in your case, it looks like your blog host added some additional code.
This is the link that our system is looking for:

and this is the link as it appears in your source code:

Once the link in your code matches what our system is looking for, you should have no further trouble submitting.
All the Best,
Carri -
Inappropriate?i'm having this problem as well, even though i have linked to the code exactly as it is copy pasted from the requirements. my code ends up exactly as the screenshot you show of their blog post. i copy pasted the link straight from their info. no matter what i do, wordpress changes its format to that. i have even typed in the code manually to attempt to get around this error and my results are the same.
I’m very unhappy
-
Inappropriate?sorry me again! after posting this i did some digging and aparently its something to do with wordpress, the best way to change it is to download this plugin (i hope i can link this, please forgive me if this is against the rules) http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/w... this will stop wordpress from formatting your quotes. just read the instructions and it'll fix your post and make it go though. it took mine just fine after installation.
-
Inappropriate?Thanks for the information, nimil!!!
I am sure that this will be helpful to others.
All the Best,
Carri -
Inappropriate?Interesting that I should come across this as it's my opp. If there is anything I ca do to help this along please don't hesitate to ask.
Carrie, this is something surly that should be taken up with your technical team immediately. If there are two bloggers here having this problem then there may be many more. The last thing I want is for bloggers to be spending time working out technical issues concerning PPP.
Please get back to me on this asap.
To the bloggers here who have created post, I'll do all I can to help this along quickly. Rest assured you will be paid if you have created a post.
I'll also contact Luis Abreu at IZEA to see if he can be of assistance. Thanks for all your help! -
Inappropriate?Hi Matthew,
This isn't actually an issue with our system or your link. It is actually an issue with the way certain blog hosts (in this case Wordpress) interpret specific characters.
As such, there isn't much we can do about this from our end except provide information. In addition, this sort of occurrence is common enough that plugins to correct this have been created such as the one nimil came across.
However, for advertisers creating links, the most common misinterpreted characters are ampersands (&) and apostrophes (which is the issue here), so you can try to avoid the use of these in your links as much as possible in the future.
All the Best,
Carri -
Thanks Carrie, I do see where you're coming from, but if people are correctly creating their blog posts by copying and pasting the links that I provide then PPP should perhaps have a way for them to be submitted. I appreciate your help. -
Inappropriate?Well, I can't find the extra code in there anywhere so I can't see how to take it out. Oh, well! Free advertising for somebody as I'm not going to take down a post that I've already sent through facebook and twitter.
I guess I will no longer be taking post that require links. : (
I’m sad and frustrated
-
Hi Jessica,
The vast majority of posts that you accept from us will require links and usually these do not cause such an issue. The problem here is the apostrophes in the link which your blog host is misinterpreting.
Since you have a squarespace blog, the Wordpress plugin won't work for you, but your own blog host will likely be able to provide you a solution to this issue. Their manual is located here http://manual.squarespace.com/, but you may have better luck contacting them directly.
All the Best,
Carri -
Jessica, I am the opp provider and I run a few blogs on squarespace. I'll also contact them regarding this. Rest assured, you WILL be paid for your excellent post if I have to walk around to your house and hand it to you in cash. -
Inappropriate?if you check out my reply above jessica you'll see a plugin for wordpress to stop that coding. as long as you have your blog set up on your own server its useable.
-
Inappropriate?oops i'm sorry i should have paid more attention you are not on wordpress!
-
Inappropriate?Okay, I just did my opp and I am having a similar problem. I put in a help ticket under a new title because my problem is a bit different.
Did anyone else notice that there are two spellings for Sherrilyn (Sherilyn) and one of the links were are to name Born of Fire but it goes to the Born of Night page? I am very frustrated.
I’m confused.
-
i read your thread and eep! you should really think about updating your wordpress install if you can! they have changed a lot :s i believe there is another way to fix it but i'm not sure if it will work for your install.. i mostly chose the plugin because i didn't want to have to dig into my wordpress files to swap code but if you are confident with that i can always toss the link to that fix for you as well.
i did notice the errors in the post, and even took the time to link to BOTH excerpts in my blog just to make sure i got all the important stuff in there. -
Ok, this is now getting weird. Quilly not only has completed many successful opps for me but did the previous opp for this author. It was exactly the same code to the same wesites, just different pages.
I don't understand how this can happen unless something has changed in the last few weeks on PPP. -
Also Quilly, can you be specific about the URLs and spelling. Unfortunately I can no longer access the detail as PPP locks me out once I accept a post. Maybe you can cut and paste it here...thanks -
Matthew -- in your previous opp there were no ' marks around the book title. You used Born of Night, not 'Born of Night'. Those quotation marks are what's causing the confusion. -
Inappropriate?nimil -- I have the current WordPress install. The link you gave us goes to a widget that is over two years old and will not work on the current WP. I have no idea how you got it to function on yours.
-
Inappropriate?oh i'm sorry i read it wrong!.. i'm not sure but it works on mine.. and i am on the newest install of wp as well. i just installed and activated and it worked just fine.
-
Inappropriate?Hi...I have the same problem.. I can't submit the opportunity as well. It give me an error "link was not included" but I made sure that I had the exact link. I copy and pasted it but still it did not work....
I’m sad
-
Hi Michelle,
If you can please provide me the URL of your post, I would be happy to take a look.
All the Best,
Carri -
Hi... sorry for the delayed reply...here is the link of my post...

Inappropriate?Hi All,
It looks like this advertiser is going to be kind enough to yank the Opp in its current form and recreate it without the quotes around the title which should alleviate all of these submission errors.
So, if you have been having trouble submitting, you should see a new offer come through in the next several hours for this opportunity. All you will need to do is to replace your current link with the updated link and you should have no further trouble submitting.
All the Best,
Carri -
Inappropriate?eep i'm new to ppp so please pardon me asking, what happens to those who's posts were already accepted? should i redo the op? or will it be fine since its already submitted and accepted.
-
Great question!
This will have no effect on the posts that were already submitted and approved. Any posts submitted, but not reviewed will be automatically approved.
This will only impact those who have not been able to submit.
All the Best,
Carri -
Inappropriate?Hi,
I had a message saying that the advertiser has cancelled the review and removed it from the marketplace.
I know it's obvious but i did want to check it wasnt anything to do with me personally not doing the opp earlier than the 3 days, as i know i had about 10 hours left to do im sure.
Or have the advertiser cancelled everyones anyway?
The advertiser was 'Book Trailer (Sherylin Kenyon) and it was for my blog Mummy Diaries (http://www.mummydiariesblog.com)
Also to ask if i had completed this a couple of days ago, could the advertiser still have cancelled or would they have had to pay out anyway?
Thanks
Tina
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Advertiser Cancelling Opportunity before 3 days up.
I’m confused
-
Tina -- if you follow this thread you will see that there was a code problem. The opp was cancelled for everyone because the system wouldn't accept them anyway. It was nothing personal! -
Inappropriate?Matthew -- Sherrilyn's name is spelled two different ways in the opp. Also, the link for the trailer says 'Born of Fire' but the code says 'Born of Night'. I would get screen shots for you, but I can't log into IZEA this morning and I'm being told I don't have an account -- it seems to be an issue with the Chrome browser -- maybe I can fix it and get back to you.
-
Inappropriate?Matthew -- oops! You pulled the opp I can't take screen shots! I am in Hawaii, by the time I get to the computer your day is half over.
-
Inappropriate?UPDATE FROM ADVERTISER:
The very helpful peeps at PPP, Carri & Luis have suggested that I pull the opp and resubmit which should solve our problems.
For those of you who who have created the opp already and not been able to submit it, please do as Carrie suggests -
"So, if you have been having trouble submitting, you should see a new offer come through in the next several hours for this opportunity. All you will need to do is to replace your current link with the updated link and you should have no further trouble submitting."
Specifically to Quilly, Tina and Jessica, I have found your blogs on PPP and made offers. So you should be ok very soon if you follow Carri's advise.
Thanks so much for being patient.
I think for the next opp I may pass it by Luis and Carri for a brief check over :)
I’m hoping it works out this time......
-
Thanks, Matthew -- I'm submitted and accepted and you're the best! -
Quilly, thanks for spotting the link redirect and spelling mistake also. The person responsible had been sent straight to bed without any supper! -
Hi Matthew
Hoping you'll take a look at a couple of my blogs [links removed]
Would like to know if you have any opps that would work there.
Both blogs are moving along well and I am receiving many compliments especially on these. -
Inappropriate?Matthew -- LOL! We all do it.
The plus side to this event is that I've gotten to enjoy your sense of humor.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Mathew,
Thanks for the fast reply. I wasnt aware there was already a thread for this problem. I guess thats why mine was moved over here lol.
But from what i have read will another offer just be made through my ppp 4.0 account in the next few hours or did you mean ppp direct!?
Sorry my mind is spinning a bit from trying to read all the thread replies :)
Thanks
Tina -
Tina, I'm pretty sure it's just ppp 4.0. -
Inappropriate?Sorry for the late reply, Thanks so much Matthew and PPP for the redo on the opp. I've just resubmited and all is fine now.
I'll definently be digging around in Squarespace later to figure out how to get around that problem in the future.
I’m pleased
