Los Angeles Moving Company trying to get more than they pay for.
So here's another advertiser trying to get more than what they're paying for.
Notice they're only paying for a link, no words, and then in the requirements they want a 450 word post and three more links.
What would happen if I overlooked this is I would make the post and have the rquired link then I would submit it. I would then receive a request for edits and they would ask for the 450 words and the 3 additional links. I would never get paid, they would have their link on my site (albeit for a short time), and I would have wasted a lot of time.
I wish there was a way to contact the advertisers and tell them they are lame.
Sure, I could find a contact email on their site but, whatever.

Inappropriate?Well, you did one thing right and that is you told us about it here. I will definitely be alert to this, and so will other bloggers. I don't expect advertisers who do this to last very long here...
-
Inappropriate?I got the offer as well, but then I just put in the 3 links instead of the 450 words, and they actually approved to pay me. perhaps you can try so. :)

Inappropriate?Hi we are seo firm representing Los Angeles Movers. We believe in supply and demand. And we believe our offer is very fair otherwise we wouldn’t be getting so many offers and would have to stop or raise prices as we did for high page
rank sites. Since we launched this offer about 4 months ago we have been averaging 35-40 blogs from publishers a month. Good publishers with PR 2-6 Majority of offers accepted are from page rank 3-4 sites more expensive but definitely worth it. We are spending between $1500-2000 a month. We have around 150 different sites that we have done business with and have a heart next to their name. Many people have lots of moving stories and don’t mine and should I rephrase Enjoy writing/blogging about it. ----------We also don’t mine if you don’t want to write anything----------------- and just copy and paste content from the site as long as you include 800 # and links. We are very fair and lots of times accept links as is like we did with Gabriel. We don’t want to waste your time either and majority of the time accept from the 1 st or 2nd attempt where we might ask you to insert 800#. So we have one of the highest payout percentages. Also unfortunately there really not that many options for us advertisers to communicate with publishers. All we have is Request Change/Accept/Decline option so lots of time we accept offers and not able to say anything to publishers . I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the publishers that have participated it has been a pleasure reading your stories and our clients are happy as well because they are getting great value. So once again publishers Thank you.
I’m Thank You

Inappropriate?Ohhh by the way feel free to contact me directly at russellr at gmail. :)
-
Inappropriate?Russell -- awhile back you sent me a request to write for you and I did. You asked for two links and 300 words. You paid for 1 link and the 300 words. I tossed the extra link in because it was no extra effort. However, requesting 3 links and 400 words for the price of 1 link is way over the top. I turned this opp down.
-
Quilly ----I wish we could have communicated directly because we could of worked something out and accept 300 words 2 links. -
Inappropriate?Until they change it, offers for this site include the cost of the link and the cost per word. I would never want to put 2, 3, 4 + links to one site in one blog entry. I don't copy and paste anything. I use offers to come up with ideas for unique articles that can incorporate the link. I manage to keep my sites entertaining for actual reader, not just trying to play the google page rank game.
To me, it's simple. You're (the advertiser) paying for 1 link and words count. This moving company site tried to only pay for a link then require x number of words that they didn't pay for anf then additional links. That's shitty to me. I've seen it before and I'll see it again and I'll make it a habit to report such opportunities.
I’m getting my point across.
-
Inappropriate?Since I always try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, I think perhaps this is just an unfortunate situation in which the Opp Description title was incorrectly written.
I too received this offer and declined it after reading the Details. I don't mind writing to a longer word requirement and enclosing 3 links if the Opp Description states that up front. Of course, I wouldn't accept that kind of opp for $5.00, and my "profile" shows that.
However, the job was presented to me initially as $5.00 Link Only. That's what I expected, but I always read the details first because I realize that people make mistakes.
The main problem seems to be that the job is described as one thing but in actuality is something else. If the job is 450 words with 3 links for $5.00, then say so up front.
That way writers, who are often taken advantage of, won't feel as if someone's trying to do that again.
Best wishes,
Joan Reeves
I’m confident

And we did the only way we could. Put that in description -
Inappropriate? We are Seo Company. For us it is ALL about links. That being said we don't think putting just a link on your site is entertaining for actual reader. ALTHOUGH WE DO ACEEPT IT. We do play Google game that is our job and we are very good at it. As far as writing content our publishers mostly already do this for free we just give them opportunity to get paid for sharing their moving experiences. Since posting my reply yesterday I was already contacted by several publishers asking for more business as well as several stories where their readers contacted them after reading our articles to share their views as well as do some writing for other projects.
Are we for everyone absolutely not. But we do believe one must love what they do and the $ will come and for majority of our publishers love bogging and are very opinionated and do it for free and getting paid is extra bonus. The more postings you have the more Google and people will find you. Also almost every other day there is a post saying that publishers are not getting enough offers. Three people told me I was their ONLY offer in the last 2 months
We do customize our offers to help publishers and for this one we can offer your readers moving Tips which is very useful for your readers and give you lots of options to insert links. So if one has good page rank site and copies our content inserts links
Benefits
Help people who read your bog when it comes to moving and all the extra stress
Make $20-50 in 5 minutes. At least that’s how much we pay. We don’t know how much % Payper post pays you guys.
Get more readers and possibly other business offers
And Help us build links for our clients. -
Inappropriate? There's no shortage of business here. This is all about paying for what you want. If you want 400 words, pay for it. If you want 3 links, make 3 offers because bloggers only set prices PER link. This offer, like others, paid for link only and not the 400 words. That's $4.00 more I should be paid base on my fee of $0.01/word which is 80% more $$ for this particular offer. Simple.
It's like me telling a guy I'll pay him $20 to cut the front lawn then he cuts it and I tell him I won't pay him until he cuts the back lawn and weeds the garden.
I’m getting a new office chair today!

Inappropriate? As the advertiser says, people are TAKING this ridiculous offer. Why should the advertiser pay more than they have to? Most of us seem to be aware they are cheating the system and 'getting away with murder' and would turn down the offer -- but as long as there are bloggers willing to sell their souls for a few bucks advertisers will be there to take advantage.
Blame the eejits taking this offer, not the advertiser for making it.
IMHO if an advertiser asks for ANYTHING they are not paying for, be it 1 extra word or 1 extra link we should decline the offer as this reflects badly on their overall ranking and sooner or later they will have to start upping their offer or find they only have splogs left willing to take their offers.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Hi, Reality TVFAN. You clearly understand my point. Gotta love MetallMan copying and pasting the same exact response twice.
Advertisers on here trying to be sneaky or prey on the desperate must hate my little PSA's but that doesn't bother me because I don't like shady business.
My whole point of this is to let every blogger on here know what these offers are about and why they shouldn't be accepted. If no one accepted these offers, all bloggers on her would make more money.
This year has been my roughest but that doesn't mean I'm going to let advertisers rip me off. Unfortunately, Other people will, which sucks. -
Inappropriate?Whoa! I didn't write that. I need Izea to take a look at that for me. I am Metallman and I did not post those comments.
I’m Upset
-
Inappropriate?Ryan -- you are absolutely correct, but did you catch the advertiser's response. He only cares about Google hits. The quality of the writing doesn't matter. That is why spam bots and bloggers with horrendous writing skills will continue to make more money than those of us with pride and integrity who want to offer a quality product.
The advertiser also said, he didn't just want us hanging links in our blogs without interesting content. I can't speak for others, but I always provide interesting content. I want to keep my readers.
And to Russelr -- the advertiser who prefers quantity to quality -- there is a good chance the quality of the customer is going to reflect the quality of the site where they found the link. Good luck with that. -
Inappropriate?Metallman I know you didn't write it. I Russell did. I have no idea but somehow it got posted under your name 2ce :( Sorry bro have no idea how it happened.
I’m Whats going on? LOL
-
Yeah, that is definitely weird. Must have been a glitch in the system or something. -
Inappropriate?Another way to put it is I care about my own site, its pr, and its readers. If I have a PR3 and I just start making shit posts and dumping 3 or 4 links to the same site on it, I'll lose that PR (in theory) and lose much of the income from sponsors the site makes.
Bottom line, I want to be paid for each and every link and each and every word. I wish other bloggers wouldn't take the kind of offer that started this thread.
PS - This thread is hot. -
Inappropriate?Indeed, I wonder if the advertiser realises that if a blogger is willing to accept his crap offers, they are willing to accept EVERY advertisers crap offer - it won't be long before google remove their page rank and render the bought link worthless.
Personally I think Izea should ban advertisers that cheat the system, I don't see why they should be allowed to get away with it. I am sure a blogger wouldn't get away with posting an entry, waiting for it to be marked as approved and then removing it.
How would this advertiser like that, if it were the blogger taking the piss out of them? The system allows it to happen, so does that make it OK? -
Inappropriate? It's not okay. You bring up a good point. Once I am marker for paid, wait a month and get paid, couldn't I just drop the links. That's the other side of shady business I want no part in.
-
Inappropriate? You don't even have to wait the 30 days. Once it's marked as approved for payment it's approved for payment - the advertiser may well notice and send in a ticket about it but if they don't you are quids in.
Obviously I am not advocating this and wouldn't do it myself, just pointing out to this advertiser that it's possible for posties to cheat the system as well -- just because you can get away with something, doesn't mean you should. -
Inappropriate? You folks are talking ethics to somebody who has already admitted he has none.
-
Inappropriate?I'm talking let's not take these kinds of offers.
-
Inappropriate? He has none as far as his own actions are concerned, I am sure he'd be the first to fire off angry tickets to Izea if the shoe were on the other foot ;)
-
Inappropriate?Ryan
Do you gave access to advertising platform? Reason why I am asking you that is that we are limited on options. We can only select Text and then how much of it we want 30,50,70,100 or Link Only option. They don't have link and txt option Since we are seo firm to us its all about links but this particular client requests some content written so in our description we clearly specified how many links and content we request. Once again mostly we get great articles with links but if you just offer links and your site is good to link from we will accept links. Because it's all about links for us seo guys. So what I am trying to say we are being as upfront as we can since there is no multiple links and txt option. Description is crystal clear. The problem is how the system delivers this opportunity to you as Link Only ------which is not true so I see your point. But we can't select txt only option because we want links:) -
Inappropriate?Same problem here.
I am new to the system.
Form now on I won't write EXTRA content for advertisers!
