Add an "Instructor" field
How about adding an "Instructor" field for the name of your instructor? Could also be used for examiner, check pilot, etc.

Inappropriate?Can you help me work out a list of people types? What I'm imagining is something like the Approaches section where you can add 1 to n people on the flight.
The text box would look up other Jetrecord users but would also let you enter plain text. The drop-down menu would contain the type of person: examiner, safety pilot, SIC, PIC, instructor, etc.
[text box for name/user] [drop-down menu] - Delete person (button)
+ Add another person (button)
Would that work? Who should be included in the list?

Having a dynamic ability to link one or more people sounds like a great idea. The only other types I could see would be Flight Engineer, Crew and Passenger (for those who want to record when they flew some celeb around :)
NOTE: My concern with looking up other JetRecord users is making sure it doesn't slow the system down populating the look up (when this site has more pilots on it, etc). Depends how the text box would operate with the looking up bit. Perhaps it should default to looking up just those people a user has already listed in this area in past flight records. Then go to JetRecord users and free text, etc. -

NOTE: In the flight list, it shows 1 POB - well, technically all flights have 1 POB (the pilot) - seems a little odd to see 1 POB when there were 2 or more. Not a major issue, just odd. Am trying to think what to put there instead of 1 POB and it's not easy to come up with something :) -
Just noticed that POB isn't showing up in the Dashboard page (list of most recent flights). Should it be in the RSS feeds and/or exports?

I'm going to put the POB numbering on the back burner for now. I agree that it's a little confusing. I think it would be confusing the other way, too.
I'm going to rethink (and redesign) the recent flights list in the new design. The RSS feeds, too. If you export your flights using the exporter, POB will show up (or not) depending on the software you choose. -
All sounds great Harry - I'm hanging out to see the new design. I was going to do a mock up idea for you but then remembered you're doing one and figured I'd wait and see what it's like :)
