So, there's 4 friggin' buttons on the Zivio if you count the power button - but the most important button function is missing. That function is, \"make an attempt to reconnect to my bluetooth phone\". My cheap one-button headsets do this - if they're not connected and you tap the button, that's the first thing they try to do. Zivio's answer to this is to dig around in your phone menus and reconnect that way, or power off the Zivio and power it back on - both of these methods are SLOW - and lame...
Furthermore, this wouldn't be much of an issue if the Zivio would actually stay connected. My Zivio spends the night charging next to my phone (about 6\" away) and in the morning, half the time it has powered itself off, and the other half it has disconnected from the phone.
So, how about re-writing your software/firmware so that one of the many buttons makes an attempt to reconnect to the phone, eh?
Hi. I bought a gorillapod slr-zoom from Adorama last week. I found no adapter screw either in the packaging or on the pod itself. I am now in Athens, Greece. Could you send me one here?
Fix the ear loop. There's a reason a person would need to use the ear loop and this design is worthless. Create something that will actually help keep the Zivio in place.
The Zivio is working great. What does not work is the silicon ear gels and ear loop with the magnet. I get a perfect fit if the ear gel is pointing down, but when I am in a hurry it moves all over the place and it does not stay in a fixed position. The result is it falls out of my ear, even with the loop. I have had the Zivio since February, and both the ear gel is really loose rotating easily on the Zivio. The loop has become real loose on the magnet, and it simply slips out. I am now using the spare that came with it. This whole combination is good for a couple of months, then it needs to be renewed.
Is there any way, you can permanetly secure the loop and the ear gel in a fixed position? Maybe some type of adhesive?
What other brand earpieces are compatible with the zivio? I've seen a few posts about jabra - are there others that work well? I'm not liking the mushroom (comfortable, but muffled sound) or the scoop (both uncomfortable and muffled sound) that came with and am trying to figure out other alternatives before I give up here.
(Hey guys - here's a hint -come out with a 2nd generation zivio boom with better earpieces and ability to disable the last call \"pocket dial\" feature and you'll have the best headset on the market...)
I researched Bluetooth headsets online for days before deciding on the Zivio, so my expectations were quite high. The problem is- I can’t get it to fit & stay in my ear! The smallest mushroom is so tight that my ear hurts (and feels swollen) after 1⁄2 an hour- I have a 2-1/2 hour commute (one-way) to work and I actually get a headache from wearing it. In addition, it seals my ear so tight that I’m partially deaf and I can’t stand to hear my own voice! The scoop pieces fit in my ear without the headset, but once connected to the headset they fall out due to the weight of the headset. The only way it fits connected to the headset is when the microphone is pointing straight down! The loop doesn’t wrap all the way around my ear, so it is not very helpful. My husband tried the scoops as well and the same thing happened to him, so I don’t believe it is just my ears!
Zivio, do you have any other earpieces available- perhaps a more-secure, larger wrap-around loop? I really like the sound quality but it is not possible for me to wear this thing!
Could you tell me what the size of the Joby ballhead is?
I have bought the Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM version and which I am using in combination with a Canon DSLR. If the Gorillapod is for example attached to a pole than I am only able to shoot a horizontal picture as long as the ballhead is able to cover the distance from the middle of the camera (this is where the connection for the tripod is located) to the side of my camera.
If the ballhead is not able to cover this distance than I am not able to turn it the full 90 degrees.
I think that I could turn my camera away from the object it is attached to, but than I won’t be able to look through the viewfinder any more.
Bought Gorillapod other day from website in UK. Released the quick release clip, attached it to camera and then attached the camera to the gorillapod. Spent a few minute trying the camera out in various positions and was very impressed with it's stability. However, when I went to take the camera off, I found that the lock ring on it had jammed! The little white arrow had somehow mysteriously turned so that it was on the opposite side (to the left of the JOBY logo as you look at it) and it won't budge at all! I managed to unscrew the entire gorillapod from my camera so fortunately that's not still stuck but the slim line attachment's is still because the lock's jammed :-(
Just got the Zivio. Was able to pair easily, but when i plug it in to charge, there is no red light indicating the device is charging. It's the same whether the power is on or off. Am I missing something??
My Gorrilapod SLR-Zoom doesn't fit the screw hole on my Nikon D300. I found out the hard way, now that I'm on a trip and was expecting to have a tripod.
The last few days my microphone has stopped working about 3/4 through the day. I can still hear the person on the other end, but they can't hear anything but static. What can I do to fix this?
Hi. I heard that you were developing a ball head for Gorillapod SLR-Zoom and it is due out in the first quarter of 2009. I just wanted to ask more details about it. Do you know when exactly are you releasing it for sale and the approximate price?
My new Gorillapod Focus yesterday lost one of its legs when I bent it (not very hard). I pushed it back in, and today the same happened again, though I do not know if it's the same leg.
The first joint just popped. Obviously, I don't feel confident putting my SLR on the Gorillapod now.
I got the Focus as a christmas present from my girlfriend and fell in love with it (and a little more with her) already - if only it were as dependable as she is...
Now I wonder: Is it normal for the Gorillapod Focus to lose its leg so easily? It does feel very sturdy otherwise, and no other joint has felt as if it were about to pop. Should I just push the leg back in and continue to do so every time this happens, or should I get my GPF replaced?
