Are you planning on releasing a quick-release plate for the Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM? I know I'll get frustrated from having to screw it in every time I use it, but my camera & zoom is a little too heavy for the Gorillapod SLR version.
Will the attachments for the Go-Go! be available separately to attach to my existing Gorillapod? (it's the one for the compact camera, not SLR or SLR Zoom)
I have a small Canon (Elph series). I can't get the original GorillaPod to work with it because the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera is off center. The GorillaPod can't support the off-balance weight of the camera. I've repackaged the GorillaPod to return to REI, but I'd really prefer to be able to get it to work. Please let me know if there's something I can do to fix this. Thanks.
Can the Gorillapod SLR also be used for a point-and-shoot (specifically Canon SD1000)? I have both the little camera and a Nikon D40 SLR, and I take both of them on trips, so I'd like to just carry (and buy) one tripod if possible.
Some background: I'm currently using a gorillapod SLR and I want to leave the slim-line attachment attached to the camera at all times for convenience. However I find with the extra size, I can no longer fit the camera into the camera case, so I'm thinking of using the gorillapod original's slim-line attachment instead, as I assume this is smaller.
My question is this: will the gorillapod original's slim-line attachment work on the gorillapod SLR?
Is there a Gorillapod that can hold even more weight than the Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM? I would like to support a camera and lens that weighs even more than the current 3kg weight limit.
I have a Nikon D40 with the 18-55 kit lens and I was wondering if the Gorillapod SLR would be strong enough?
I also have a Nikon 55-200 VR lens. Would the Gorillapod SLR still be strong enough?
I like the fact that the SLR has the quick release plate, whereas the SLR-ZOOM does not. Also, since I am going to be travelling, the smaller size and reduced weight make the SLR more attractive
I was wondering if you could make a section of joints about 2-3 ft. long with a clamp at each end. One end to clamp to a tripod and the other end to hold an object like a flower or?
have both Kodak Z712 IS and Panasonic TZ3 and want to buy only one Gorillapod. Both show that SLR version should be ordered. However, I saw Helga's reply to azauhar, which says that the smaller, lighter version will work for the Panasonic. Is that also true for the Kodak, which is larger and has a protruding, though fixed, lens BUT the tripod mount is in the center (unlike the Panasonic)? Obviously I would like the smaller, lighter Gorillapod --if it will work with both of my cameras. Please advise.
When I look which gorillapod suits my camera in your "Which Gorillapod is right for me?" it told me to buy gorillapod SLR! Why do you prefer gorillapod SLR for my compact camera panasonic TZ3? In the specifications of gorillapod original it says it can hold weigth of 275g, and my TZ3 has only 245g (including battery). Thank you for your answer.
I am going to buy a SLR ZOOM, but am curious as to what size ballhead is best? It looks like the base where the ballhead mounts is about 1.25" across and my existing ballhead from my tripod is about 2.5" across. Is this too big of a ballhead or do I need to find a ballhead with a base diameter around the same or less as the Gorillapod's base?
