Firmware updates for the Zivio?
As the Zivio is a complex product that will benefit from improved software, I'm wondering if there will be firmware updates available in the future?

Currently there are no concrete plans to release updated firmware, since this is partially dependent on the Bluetooth capabilities supported by the chipset used in the Zivio. However, I will pass your suggestion on to our engineers, and we will certainly take it under consideration.

Inappropriate?Peter, thank you for your reply. I was asking this question mainly in regard to another posting here saying that the release date was delayed again by a last minute firmware update to ensure we'll be satisfied by the product once it's delivered.
Now I was wondering what happens if, over time, your engineers improve the firmware further. New units will certainly be equipped with the updated software, but it would be a pity if existing customers would be stuck with their original, now-not-perfect-anymore device.
I know that (some, not all) vendors offer firmware updates for their products, and I'd see this as a great feature of the Zivio. Gives some more confidence that the hard earned money is well spent.

Inappropriate?Things like touching the multi function button once for voice dial instead of twice does not require a different chip. Redial should be made two button taps not one. Can something be done about the audio? It seems unbalanced, muffled. Its plenty loud. I think it has too much low end not enough high. Oh, and there is no tone to let you know the call has ended. It just goes silent. So when i drop a call or something and my phone is in my pocket i dont know the call has ended til i notice nobody is talking to me. Other headsets i've owned do have a notification tone for call start and call end. Can this be put into a firmware update? Thanks for the help

Inappropriate? Thanks for the feedback. The sound quality can vary a bit depending on what earpiece is used with the Zivio, but if you are experiencing unusuable sound quality, please contact us via email at support@myzivio.com. I will also pass on your additional comments to our engineers. Thanks for taking the time to write.

Sound is great, when it works, but my issue is transmission. If the phone is is in direct line, all is good. But if I place the phone on my right, (left ear is my moniter ear) the drop-out is huge. I must use the Zivio only in direct to my left ear. If the Zivio is not within 8 feet , and I've measured, and on even on my left side, the dropouts are constant. My phone is a Samsung Fin from Helio. Also, when I extend the boom, my roommate, whom I call constantly, says he can not hear me, Once the boom came completely out and I put it back in when it was new. Could this be the problem? If so, I would like to exchange,or get new. I do like the unit and would like to use it. In the very few times I use the Joby now, I promote it very highly. Of course with a caveat that the boom may not work as advertised. I am still happy that i seem to be the only one in South Florida (South Beach where the newest tech is cool), but I would really like to give a glowing review as I cannot do now.
thanks for your time,Al
