Get rid of the ear scoops and make a silicone earpiece that will actually support the weight of the Zivio in your ear, without using the earpiece.
I used to have a Plantronics BT headset (died of old age) with different sized silicone earpieces - because of their fat shape, they would support the weight of the headset in the ear, without requiring an over-the-ear support.
Because the Zivio is made partially of metal, it is heavy, so this might not be possible, but I would like to see Zivio try it. Again, having to put the earpiece over your ear makes it too slow to answer a call.

Inappropriate?Should have said \"...without using the ear support\"; hope that makes sense.

Inappropriate? Thanks for your feedback regarding the design of Zivio ear pieces. I have forwarded your suggestion to our engineers.
I'm assuming you have already tried both the "mushroom" and "scoop" style earpieces in the range of sizes that came with the Zivio? Did you find any earpiece that fit you? -
Inappropriate?Yes, I've tried both. Neither fits the ear securely enough to hold the weight of the Zivio without the ear support. I think I had a BB/Plantronics 655 (now 665) which had a fat silicone rubber earpiece in a variety of different sizes - that actually gave it the ability to stay in the ear - I would much rather have something like that on the Zivio than the ear scoop, which cannot support the Zivio's weight (nor can the less sticky mushroom).
-
Inappropriate?Yeah I had a Jabra that would fit more securely in the ear - the Zivio isn't bad, but I would like to see an earpiece that would support the weight also.
-
Inappropriate?I agree that the Jabra earpiece if more secure and form fitting than the Zivio's. But I also think that most people do not know how to actually fit the earpieces. Unfortunately the Zivio manual is not very complete in graphically showing the position of the scoop earpiece. I work in fitting hearing aid type devices and can understand the difficulty of making universally fitting pieces. My plantronic 540 earpiece was easy to fit because it was circular with a small tab extension. If one places the smaller tab of the scoop facing forward or towards the nose, it will not rotate and should hold the weight of the Zivio. Also, do not pick a mushroom type earpiece too small, or it will go into the ear canal too far and press on the more sensitive inner ear canal. This is the correct positioning of the scoop type earpiece. The longer handle of the scoop goes into the ear canal, while the larger dish of the scoop is retained in the bowl or concha of the ear.

Inappropriate? Thanks so much for posting this information, Scott. It's very kind of you to help out fellow Zivio owners, and we appreciate your assistance in clarifying the best way to fit and wear a Zivio.
We've also provided some descriptions and illustrations for people here: http://support.myzivio.com/manual.php...
Thanks again for taking the time to contribute!
I’m grateful

Inappropriate?I have tried all the Zivio earpieces and dont like them. when you put the "adaptor" thingy that holds the mushroom tips on, it muffles the sound. I've tried the jabra (that looks like a teardrop) it works really well, but doesnt snap on very good. half the time I put it in my ear it seperates from the headset. I would use this one for sure if it fit on the unit better.
I tried the new jawbone 2 earpiece with the little loop: too flimsy. if I shake my head, the unit falls out of my ear. tried the jabras with all the lumps (like a pigs head) doent even fit a little.
Currently I'm trying the Plantronics gel tip (with the loop like the jawbone's). it doesnt actually fit on the zivio's "nubbie", but you can stretch it over the "nubbie" and it will work (that's how I got the jawbone one on too). it's pretty good so far. You could make the loop a solid piece that the user could trim to fit. nah, forget I said that, some of these guys would probably cut their ears with a razor blade.
you should make one like that. clear with a loop. or like the teardrop jabra.
thanx
barry
ps. send me one when you get a working design.
I’m still waiting
