Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM smells terribly bad!
Has anyone had any issues with a new Gorillapod smelling really awful? I got the Gorillapod SLR-ZOOM and it just smells terrible. Not sure how to deal with the smell. I've wiped it down with a wet cloth, tried baby powder, fabreeze, etc.

Inappropriate?I'm sorry to hear that. The Gorillapods are made of very high quality materials, and should not have any sort of strong odor. This is certainly the first we've heard about anything like this.
I'm not sure where the smell you describe is coming from. Where did you purchase your Gorillapod? Are you quite certain that it's authentic and not an imitation? -
Inappropriate?Yes, I purchased the Gorillapod SLR-Zoom at target.com. I returned it and order another expecting a different experience. However, the second one has the same odor but not as strong as the first. I've found some forum posts from other users that describe a foul odor as well. I'm pretty disappointed in this and will see if another brick-and-mortar store carries it to test out. If it's not better, I'll definitely be posting to some photography forums and blogs of my poor experience to share my experience with others. I hope that you can address these concerns with the product manager to minimize this issue in the future.

All of the Gorillapods that I've personally handled in the past have been neutral in smell, so this is both surprising and disconcerting for us. I'm wondering if something might have happened to the products you received during the shipment process - either from our factory to Target's fulfillment center, or between Target's warehouse and your home.
Can you help us out by describing what the Gorillapod smells like?
Finally, if you're unable to find one which doesn't have the smell, we'd be happy to send you a replacement that does not smell.
