Inappropriate?Zivio looks like a great product. Great design. Are there any design features for managing or wearing a Zivio when it's not in your ear?
-
Inappropriate? This is a great question, and I'm glad you asked. We are actually working on a few different options for managing/wearing the Zivio when it's not in the ear. I can't go into specifics just yet, but we are definitely thinking about this problem and trying to come up with a good solution to it.
Do you have any ideas on what you'd like to see? We're always trying to make our customers' lives easier, so if you have ideas or preferences, we'd love to incorporate them into our product.
Thanks for thinking of us!
I’m excited about our customers' creativity!

Inappropriate?Any plans to make the Zivio waterproof?
What about sound/vibration/silent ringing options for using the headset with the phone in pocket? -
Inappropriate? Thanks for your questions and suggestions!
Currently we don't have plans to make the Zivio waterproof, but it will probably be slightly water resistant (about the same as most cell phones are - they can take a little drizzle or light rain, but don't submerge it!)
As for ringing options, are you talking about having the headset itself vibrate? It will have a ringer sound in the earpiece speaker so that even if your phone is silenced you will still hear ringing in the earpiece.
Hope that helps answer you questions. If you have any other ideas, we'd love to hear them!

Inappropriate?I imagine a large digital wall calendar/planner. It would be similar to a flat screen 20" TV only thinner. It has two views. The first view is a still digital image, possibly an uploaded personal image. This is the default view. The second view is a monthly view calendar in which you can program your monthly plans. This gadget can store at least 6 months worth of planning. It would have two buttons to allow the user to move back and forth between the months. The buttons would be kind of discreetly placed to deter curious admirers. After 1, 5 or 10 minutes of no activity the default view would reappear; there is a switch on the back to select an interval. There also would either be a third button to show calendar view or possibly even a finger print scanner for extra privacy/security. It would be programmed by a removable memory card that the user could program with a pc. It would be battery powered and since the data is stored on a memory card no data would be lost if the battery died. There would also be computer software used to alter preset programming to change from Jan-Jun to Jul-Dec and year to year. The user would simply have to input the appropriate year and the rest would automatically reconfigure and then the user would click "rewrite" and the software would erase and rewrite the memory card. Using the software the user could then go into each month and input data for daily or even weekly plans, birthdays, holidays, etc. Days that have an event would have a different background color in the block based on preset colors for each type of event. On holidays only the numerical date would have a different color. Today's date would have an illuminating red border. Inputting data would not require rewriting the memory card, so new plans could be add without erasing anything else. You would never have to buy a calendar again.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like you've given it a lot of thought. We've got a lot of ongoing projects in our pipeline at the moment, but if we come to a point where we have bandwidth to consider new projects, we'll definitely let you know!
Thanks for thinking of us!
I’m happy.

Inappropriate?how about bringing the products you've already announced to market before asking your customers to do your research for you.
-
I have to say I had a little chuckle with that. But hey you can't blame a company for wanting free research. I would really like to see the existing products in action myself. -
Inappropriate?I'd like the ability to tweak the outgoing volume in the firmware...either through the Zivio's buttons, or on the computer via USB. Speaking through the Zivio (even with the boom extended) is MUCH quieter than talking directly on the phone.
When calling a landline, this lower volume isn't as big of a deal, but when calling another cellphone (especially outside or in a noisy environment), it's even more difficult to hear. -
Thanks for your feedback. To make sure that the other party can hear you well, try extending your microphone whenever possible, and make sure that it is pointed towards your mouth, since it is partly directional. The closer the mic is to your mouth, the better the sound quality should be. Sound volume can also depend on the loudness of an individual's voice. Personally, I've found that I can speak rather quietly into the mic and still be heard well on the other end. If your problems persist, please feel free to post here again, or better yet, give us a call at our 800 number. -
Inappropriate? Also, voice dialing through the Zivio is poor. With the boom extended, I can voice dial on the first try about 25% of the time, but with the boom collapsed, it doesn't understand a single word I'm saying.
-
With voice dialing, there are two factors at play: 1) the sound quality from the Zivio, and 2) your phone's ability to recognize your voice. In any situation your voice will always sound better with the microphone extended, for the simple reason that the microphone is closer to the sound source. As for voice dialing, the voice recognition software of various phone models can vary greatly, so it's difficult to say with certainty what the root cause is, but combining a retracted mic with the VR software sounds like it makes it difficult. Thanks for letting us know about your problem, though. We'll pass this along to our engineers. -
I've found the same problem; w/ the boom extended (and sometimes I take it out of my ear and make sure the mic is directly in front of my mouth) the voice dial works about like Adam said -- maybe 1/4 of the time (w/ my HTC Fuze). The Fuze does not have this problem if I use the phone w/o the Zivio headset.
In some cases when I double press the Zivio button to activate the voice dialing, I do not get the microphone icon on the phone (I get a couple of \"beeps\", but not the official beep that says it's time to start talking.)
Very very frustrating. It's probably a good thing the voice dialing doesn't work or someone would have heard a long string of expletives at very high volume... -
Inappropriate? How about using a standard mini-usb port on the Zivio so I can carry one less cable with me. Why does every manufacturer feel the need to make their own proprietary port and cable? Are you making that much money off of extra cables and chargers? If not then why wouldn't you make it something standard?
-
The choice of USB port on the Zivio was made purely based on size requirements, and not for any other reason. Moreover, we are using the USB standard instead of some proprietary charging system, so you can charge your device from any computer or with the included wall adapter. Plus, we include two cables with every Zivio, so there's no need to purchase anything extra - everything you need to use the Zivio comes with it. As for the mini-USB port you suggest, while relatively small, it is actually considerably larger than the one we use for the Zivio. Given the form factor and the layout of the Zivio's internal components, using a larger port was simply not possible. -
Inappropriate? Please make oval shaped eargels. The ear canal is oval, it makes sense and it would be alot more comfortable. The ear hook is useless, it pushes the zivio away, that is not what we want. Look at klipsch audio's headphones the eargels are OVAL.

Inappropriate?I have a Gorillapod SLR and I think that the quick release design is much more practical than other tripod Q-Rs. I have been looking for a monopod for my camera, to use where there is nothing to fix my Gorillapod to. A monopod with the same Q-R mechanism as Gorillapod would be ideal. A tilt mechanism and spring-loaded telescopic design that could double as a walking pole would have added appeal. How about creating this?

Inappropriate?1) Zivio: Buttons should be recessed/concave rather than convex to help prevent my pocket from calling a co-worker I barely know 16 times before I notice the problem again. And because it would be cooler.
2) Zivio: Add option to disable the redial most recent number feature. Nice to have in some cases, but for those of us that don't use it, would be nice to be able to completely prevent those 16 calls.
3) Zivio: Add support for pairing with computers. I love my Zivio. Wish I could pair it with my computer for VoIP.
4) New product idea: I spent much of this evening researching and shopping for a cordless phone to use with my landline (actually VoIP). Cordless phones suck. Why can't I buy a DECT 6.0 phone that pairs with my Zivio just like my mobile does. Plantronics' Calisto Pro comes close, but is sold as a package with handset and headset combined. Someone needs to release a home phone system that seamlessly merges landline, voip, and cell together by using the same multipoint headset as the common element across all three (and ideally keeps contacts in sync as well). -
Inappropriate? This is a great headset. My friends don't realize I'm on it half the time. But, the ear pieces supplied leave a lot to be desired, and the earhopok borders on useless. I have seen others bring this up but get the reply,\" Our people wear them all the time and like them\".
You aren't selling to your people, you are selling to your customers. Please, please PLEASE...come up with another ear hook, and the Zivio will be perfect.
It doesn't fit very well, and after a few weeks, gets to the point were it frequently slides out of the holder, allowing the earpiece to fall free.
Again, please fix this problem.
