Zach, our sincere apologies for the delay in response time.
It's difficult to give an absolute answer to your question without knowing exactly how loud your machine shop is, but based on our tests and feedback from our customers, I would say that it is likely the Zivio should work well for you.
We have a number of truckers and sanitation workers who work in very loud environments and with noisy machinery, and they have given us rave reviews. In fact, the sanitation worker who picks up the trash from one of our offices loves our headset and has purchased multiple Zivios.
Another good thing about using the Zivio in loud environments is that not only will the other party be able to hear you, but you should be able to hear your caller, since we have a large range built into our volume settings.
Of course, if you end up purchasing a Zivio and are not satisfied with the results, you can always return or exchange it.
Thanks so much for your interest and also for your patience.

Inappropriate?I don't think there's an easy way to delete the comments, but thanks for your concern. Hopefully we can change your mind about Joby going forward! :-)
I’m optimistic.

Inappropriate?Well research was going to make me get the zivio anyways. 70% of the people with the jb2 are unhappy with them. Thanks Peter for your response guess joby does care. Hey can i get a free zivio?

Inappropriate?By the way i work with an automatic saw and machines that use 125 psi air supply that can be loud sometimes, there is also a constant droning sound from the hydraulics on about 6 of these machines. my current motorola h12 doesnt cut it at all, not much noise reduction. people complain about background noise all the time

Inappropriate? Thanks for your continued interest in the Zivio. It's tough for me to say with certainty how the Zivio will fare in your working environment, but I can say that if you're not happy with the way it performs in the machine shop, you're welcome to return it for a refund. I am optimistic, though. Just make sure to use it with the mic fully extended and as close to your mouth as possible when in noisy environments.

Inappropriate? Finally got my zivio, this thing is really awesome. Incase anybody else was wondering the answer to this ?. I can stand right next to the 5hp cyclone vacuum and the pnuematic saw (which is extremely loud) and carry on a conversation and my wife cant tell i'm at work unless i'm almost on top of the thing. I think the only place that would be any louder is being on the runway with a commercial jet. I do have a couple of complaints though, the zivio coud stand to lose some weight, just make it all plastic, the weight tends to pull on your ear a little especially if you're doing a lot of moving around you'll need to adjust it a few time a day. Joby needs to make different ear pieces (checkout klipsch audio headphones) just a suggestion...a strong suggestion. Can you guys please do a firmware upgrade to get rid of the buzzing sound from the speaker and to make the speaker sound a bit clearer? There is too much bass in it and sometimes it makes the other person sound a bit muffled. I would like to hear your thoughts on this Peter. Please don't come out with a new headset anytime soon I just got this one less than a week ago. Did I say this headset is awesome and performed beyond expectation? Guess it don't hurt to mention it twice.
I’m hoping for a firmware update soon
