Inappropriate?Keith,
We understand your furstration and appreciate your patience...The Zivio Bluetooth Headset should be available by July 8th....
The company says
this answers the question

July 8th is here - but where's the Zivio? Sure, I can preorder it from myzivio.com for couple of days now, but that hardly qualifies as "available". -
Inappropriate? The California hands free cell phone law goes into effect today!
I now have no choice, but to go elsewhere for a headset.
I'm really angry you posted the July 1 date and have missed it! If I'd known you weren't serious about shipping July 1st, i would have ordered a Jawbone 2 and I'd have it already. -
Keith, they have been promising release of the product sine 2007. I just ordered the Jawbone 2. I was excited about this product when I saw it at CES. I think Joby saved me from making a mistake. Aiph/Jawbone use state of the art milspec tech in their noise canceling features. Joby makes the funky camera tripods. :-) Joby seems to have proven that they are not ready to compete with a technology product. -
Inappropriate?doctordetroit,
i held out this long because the original Jawbone didn't fit me well. it's time to try the Jawbone 2.
i think you're right Joby just isn't ready to play in this sandbox and should stick to what they know. -
Inappropriate?Keith,
I certainly appreciate and understand your frustration....
Launching a product of this kind is not and exact science.
We have delayed launching the Zivio to improve the manufacturing process and to make enhancements to the firmware and software that drives the headset. I can assure you that the wait will be worthwhile...The Zivio is coming soon, and we should start shipping units in the next couple of weeks.....Regards, Phil Romero, Dir. Cust. Service

Inappropriate?Phil:
"not an exact science"?!? The consumer is expected to purchase a complex, high energy, electronic device with potentially explosive Li-On technology, place it on their ear and be comforted with the company sponsored statement that their prodct development is "Not an Exact Science"?
For the gorilla tripod, "not an exact science" may mean the camera falls over.
For an RF based device, "not an exact science" could mean explosive battery discharge, unchecked RF emmission, electrocution, burns, hearing loss etc.
The lackadaisical attitude from Joby is simply not acceptable.
I’m shocked (pun not intended)
-
Inappropriate?staffsgtstv,
I believe you might have misunderstood Phil's comment. Phil was referring to the commercial launch of the headset, and NOT the technical development of the product. We have taken great effort and time (obviously) to ensure a high-quality product which will hopefully not only meet, but exceed consumer expectations.
We most certainly do *not* have a lackadaisical attitude toward this product or ANY of our products. In fact, the delay of our product launch has occurred precisely because we take quality, safety and the consumer experience very seriously. We saw an opportunity to make the Zivio better still before releasing it to the public, so we've devoted extra time to doing just that.
While we can certainly understand and empathize with your frustration that the Zivio has not been made widely available to the public, we hope you can understand that the delays have been borne from a desire to release our best effort to customers and to ensure their safety and product satisfaction.
We would certainly never compromise any aspect of safety or quality just to rush a product out the door.
If you have any further questions, I invite you to contact me directly at peter@joby.com
Regards,
Peter
I’m committed to ensuring good communication with our customers.

Inappropriate?Peter,
At this time you have a credibility problem. This problem is not because your products do or do not work as advertised. It is because you told the public you were going to do something, and you haven’t done it.
Your company brought a cool sounding new product to CES (the largest consumer electronics show in the nation) and said you would have it available for purchase “soon”.
You have since published several release dates and missed them all.
Your potential customers are frustrated and angry, and you haven’t even delivered the product yet. This puts you in the position of having to “re-sell” your company, your capabilities and your product.
This situation is unfortunate and frustrating, and entirely avoidable. Tell your potential customers the truth, and keep your commitments.
Keith.
