My Gorillapod broke its neck on the first use.
I just got this Gorillapod yesterday. I mounted it onto my bike handle bar with my Sony DSC-W50 camera. I was taking some videos while riding. Thirty minutes into the ride my camera fell off because the neck broke off from the Gorillapod but its legs were still holding on the handle bar. I am not happy at all. I got this Gorillapod from Joby online store. Should I return it and ask for a refund?

Inappropriate?I'm sorry to hear about your incident. We'd be happy to replace your broken Gorillapod, but we should point out that if you plan to use your camera on your bicycle, you need to carefully consider what size Gorillapod you intend to use with it.
The maximum weight ratings that we publish for Gorillapods are only for use in a relatively stationary environment. If you are using your Gorillapod in a rough or bumpy situation, like on a bicycle, we strongly encourage you to use a Gorillapod that is one, or even two sizes larger than you'd otherwise need.
For example, I have attached my compact camera to my bicycle, but I never use a Gorillapod smaller than the SLR model, because I want the extra stability and safety it provides. In addition, I always tether my camera to my bike just in case something bad or unforeseen happens. I don't want the camera flying off.
If you intend to continue filming on your bike, there are ways to do it safely, but I highly recommend that you get at least the Gorillapod SLR model. Naturally, we're happy to replace your Gorillapod Original for free, but if you prefer to upgrade to the SLR size, we will only charge for the difference.
The best way to initiate the exchange or replacement is to email us directly at info@joby.com
Thanks!
