My Gorillapod can no longer stand up on its own! Three legs are better than two...
Hello! I received a really cool Gorrillapod for Christmas and used it once or twice before taking it to Mammoth on a family ski trip in March and when I went to take a photograph and set up the camera one of the legs broke off :(
I am hoping to be able to exchange it for a fully-appendaged model...please advise?
Thanks!

Inappropriate?Hi there,
I too have the same problem. 16 months ago I bought a Joby Gorilla Pod SLR ZOOM to use with my Nikon D80 and its 55-200 lightweight zoom model, to take to Australia with me to study for a year there.
After just two weeks use of using it typically like a standard tripod, and occasionally bending it, one leg now more or less is so loose that the tripod can't even support the weight of the camera, much less the lens aswell. I stopped using it a long time ago, but since getting back to the UK, I decided to try and get it sorted with Joby UK.
I am quite disappointed as this was by no means a cheap thing to buy at the time. I could have bought a proper mini tripod, and that would have done, as I rarely used the benefits of the bendiness, although I would still like that use.
Please advise as to how I may carry on with your product, and reinstall faith in your company.

Inappropriate?I've had a similar experience with my SLR model. Using a Canon 400D with a Canon 17-85 IS lens, I cannot get one of the legs to take the weight, it simply folds.
However, I haven't even had 2 days use out of it. Whilst i've had it since just before Christmas, this is the first time i've actually tried to use it outside of simply trying a couple of shots in the house. There's no wear on the unit at all, it looks like it's just been removed from the packaging.
I've had a small Gorillapod for a couple of years that I use regularly with my Lumix P&S and have never had any problems with it. The joints still feel as firm as ever, so it's obviously not something that affects all the company's products...
Having read some old topics now, it appears you simply have to send and email with a photo of the faulty item with the Joby logo visible, your purchase details and an address and Joby will sort it out for you.
