Original GorillaPod doesn't work with off-center tripod mounts?

I have a small Canon (Elph series). I can't get the original GorillaPod to work with it because the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera is off center. The GorillaPod can't support the off-balance weight of the camera. I've repackaged the GorillaPod to return to REI, but I'd really prefer to be able to get it to work. Please let me know if there's something I can do to fix this. Thanks.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you had this problem. We actually recommend the Gorillapod SLR for these types of cameras. The slightly larger Gorillapod will be able to support the camera and keep it from tipping over. You should be able to exchange the Original Gorillapod for the Gorillapod SLR at REI without a problem. Please let me know if you have any difficulties and I'll lmake sure we get you the correct Gorillapod.
