Hello everyone,
Thank you for your patience. Thanks to the Mozilla team, Firefox 3.5.3 is now available on Jolicloud!
We have provided an update of the software which will automatically convert your old Firefox into the latest version. The installation is very easy, you just need to update your system.
More details about this upgrade on the Jolicloud Blog.
Enjoy!

Inappropriate?any news on when we will get the 3.5 upgrade?

Inappropriate?Tariq is right. You can use the Ubuntu package, but unless you're comfortable with Linux, you will have problems making it work, especially after upgrades. I'd love installing 3.5, but I did that with Ubuntu NBR and upgrades gave me all sorts of pain.

Inappropriate?Romain, does Jolicloud handle all software updates? Under Ubuntu, the user installs extra repositories outside Canonical to do updates. And most users install Ubuntuzilla to keep Firefox and Thunderbird updated. So it is a different procedure since the only repositories available are the ones maintained by Jolicloud and nothing is user-installable as in Ubuntu, would I be correct?
Thanks. -
Hello,
Jolicloud is actually handling the software updates from all the sources specified on the OS. However, when packages are available in different sources including the Jolicloud repository, our customized Jolicloud packages will be automatically selected so that the users can have a better experience on their netbook.
For instance, regarding Firefox 3.5, we have built our own packages for Firefox and XULRunner in order to have the existing Firefox 3.0 replacement but also to increase the performances. -
Inappropriate?Cool. On Ubuntu, users have had to download Ubuntuzilla just to keep Firefox/Thunderbird current. Canonical does not do application updates except at every release cycle when a new Ubuntu version is released. This means old applications remain by default even when new application versions become available between an Ubuntu release.
