No Sound on HP Mini
No sound on my HP Mini 1000 anyone have the same problem or some idea of how to fix it?

Inappropriate?If you google search for "ubuntu hp mini. No sound" or some variation I'm sure there will be a fix. It's almost certainly a driver that needs updating.

Inappropriate?I had the exact same issue with UNR and my Compaq mini 700. By reading forums, it seems that it's a common issue with HP mini 1000 and I've fixed it by using this solution : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so...
Hope it can helps for Jolicloud also and help the support team to fix Jolicloud. Thx to share if it works for you.

I also had this problem with Ubuntu NBR, but this suggestion doesn't work on a default install of Jolicloud. It may be the right answer, but the main problem I'm having is that the linux "parts" are not in "/usr/src/linux..." as the script assumes.
So where is that stuff, so I can modify the path in the suggested solution? And can someone give me better words to describe what I'm talking about? -
Attempted the fix and does not work on a standard install of Jolicloud. On top of the issue regarding package location (as Jeff mentioned), this script also assumes the "make" package is installed as it would be on NBR but isn't under an install of Jolicloud. Even though that issue can be easily resolved, we are still left the initial problem with package location.

Inappropriate?HP mini 1000 sound dose not function via speakers. This seems to be an issue with the fact that Jolicloud is using the Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty release kernel. Try the ubuntu os with same results. -

Inappropriate?Sweet to hear!! I have just tossed out Ubuntu 9.04 main in favor of the Cloud, what a happy happy place it is here. I will eagerly await this new kernel as with out sound I must pull pin on the cloud, need the sound for my traveling entertainments.

Inappropriate?OK I have followed the steps found in this post over in a Ubuntu site and my speakers and my audio jack both have great sound. Mic currently not functioning but will keep at it till either the Jolicloud team steps too or I get it on my todd.

Inappropriate?Two minor issues with the above work around.
1) Mic is not functioning still
2) Both audio out and main speakers are muted upon boot up. A little bit of a pain but not huge, just need to go into sound settings and un mute both. -
Inappropriate?I got a Hp mini 2133 - i got sound - but no wireless lan and no gfx driver. I can only see 2/3 of the screen. Cant install gfx driver (xp driver) . tried to change resolution size - but nothing happend!! can any1 help me?1 Comment Add a comment

Inappropriate?alpha 2c update has fixed my sound!! blog mentions a tick when the sound is muted, but I am hearing the tick periodically as well with sound on, no big deal, just fyi.

It didn't work for me - sudo apt-get update/upgrade returns nothing to add - login screen still shows alpha 2b whereas logout screen shows alpha 2c - still no sound on my HP Mini 1001TU 8-(

Inappropriate?Please install our jolicloud-test repository and validate if the issue still exists.
$ sudo apt-get install jolicloud-apt-test-repository
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Then, reboot.
There are some new packages on this repository that still require some testing, but it may solve your sound problem.
