Pidgin thinks all words are misspelled initially due to missing language tools
When I first set up an account within Pidgin and began typing, I noticed that every single word I typed was flagged as misspelled. (My locale is en_US.UTF-8)
Solution: Launch gnome-language-selector (or choose Language Support from Administration). You'll be informed that not all tools had been installed and given the opportunity to install them. Install them. Then log out. When you log back in, things work as expected.
Suggestion: I don't know if there's any way you can cause the missing tools to be automatically installed via some post-install script, but it would be nifty if you could.
Thanks!
