If I've changed iPhone, can't (and don't want to) restore and don't have access to the old iPhone (and therefore can't email entries) is there somewhere on my mac / pc where I can access my entries from a previous sync? I can still restore to a previous sync, so the info is there, but really don't want to because of old jailbreak issues... iphone 100% legal now.
Small glitch I've noticed. Scenario: Do a partial fill. Upon the next full tank fill, the MPG is calculated correctly on the individual entry page but is displayed incorrectly on the entries page and the fuel graphs and when exported. I normally do full fills on my car but if I can't make it to my usual filling station, I will put a small partial fill in to keep me going.
What are the maximum characters that the Notes field can accept? For that matter, how about the Entry Type and Entry Subtype fields? I am combining data from a previously used car management program (TealAuto, who is loosing out by not converting the application for the iPhone) and would like to avoid any export/import surprises. Other than the import information page on your web site, any other tips that you might like to mention?
When e-mailing data from my iPhone, I only get the gas entries. No service entries are sent, regardless of choosing (e-mail) "Service Entries" or "All Entries". Is there some core data file I can extract for (Karl's) inspection? Screenshots? Copy of e-mail?
BTW, this is the first time since purchasing the software that I have attempted to export data and yes, I am running version 1.25.

Loaded Car Care last night and it's ideal for my needs. Changed units to £ and litres but these have reset to $ and gal when I opened the app this morning.
So I have entered in all my reminders for my car, but the next service time and mileage shows the interval I entered (e.g. 3 months or 3,000 miles) instead of showing the actual date and mileage it's due based on my last service I entered (e.g. 89,744 or in 2 months). What is going on?
What format can data be imported? I have a Palm application Autobase that exports into tab delineated text files. I was wondering if CSV files (for which I would convert my backup files into) could be imported.
CarCare data are included in the email as plain text, and this doesn't facilitate the exporting process. Most web based email readers can't manage the exporting of text without the risk of loosing the original formatting. The correct way of adding data on an email is by encoding it as attachments.
I would be handy if the autos screen (main screen) could be configured to show a couple selected reminders. For example, instead of showing just current mileage, mpg and the wrench when service is due, it could optionally (by user choice) show miles until next tire rotation and oil change.
Hi,
I use the following settings for my car:
Odometer: miles
Fuel economy: L/100 km.
Fuel measurement: Liters
But I have a problem. It seems like the app multiplies the litres in entries. It only happens with the entries when I fill up partially. Every time the table refreshes it brings me a higher value :(
I downloaded CarCare last week and started putting data in from my paper records.
I've found that a lot of the information I enter is forgotten by the program. It always happens in the same fields (notes and date in entries) and usually in particular entries. I will make a few new entries (or edit existing ones this has already happened to), hit 'save,' but then the next time I open the program the notes field will be blank and the date field will revert to the old date (that is, the date I created the entry, not the date I specified the maintenance event occured).
In addition to the date and note fields in the entries, this happens to the 'car info' fields. I'll enter my car info, then the next time I enter the program the fields will be blank.
It doesn't seem to matter whether I enter the data by hand or import it through the web. I've tried power-cycling the iPhone, updating the software and even deleting/re-installing.
Any ideas? This has become very frustrating because I like some of the features not available in CarCubby.
I've got a 2004 Mercury Marauder, and it's slightly insulted that it has to be referred to as a normal 'Grand Marquis.' Think you could add this vehicle?
It would be great if Car Care had a filter for the data so that you could see how your mileage, expenses, etc. were between certain dates rather than simply from the first entry to the last. When I was a Palm user, there was a car mileage program that incorporated that function and it was useful. Thanks for a good product.
Welcome to the Car Care support page on Get Satisfaction. I am the author, Karl Becker, and I would like to provide support to Car Care users. Also, please let me know if there are any things you would like to see change or be improved with the app - I have many improvements in development, and I would like to hear your thoughts!
