I want to see the aerial maps in more detail but I can't zoom in as much as I would like. How do I zoom in more?

The limit on the zoom level is actually the active Google Maps type (the drop down box at top-right of each map). The default GMap type for Koordinates is 'Terrain', which unfortunately doesn't extend to more detailed zoom levels for New Zealand.
Switching to the 'Map' type should get you a few more zoom levels in most areas of New Zealand.
