CamTwist is no longer working
For months now I've used CamTwist 1.7 with Kyte with no problem, (see "Video Stalls" topic where your folks also tested it OK) well since last Friday (I thought it was my problem) and now today it seems CamTwist and Kyte no longer talk to each other. I can use other services like Phreadz, uStream with CamTwist no problem but when I go to Kyte it takes my built in iSight despite the fact I have CamTwist selected.

We have logged this bug and hope to address it in the near future. We recommend to try and change the settings of flash to possibly fix the issue. To try out different settings, right click or command click in the video window and select settings. From there select the camera tab and try selecting a different source.
This may or may not resolve the issue - as we are working on a more efficient system to choose camera sources.1 Comment

Inappropriate?i have promised a client that he can use CamTwist with Kyte and the whole site has Kyte embedded as a main part of the interface
the reason i committed to him that it was working was that i read on this very site that you had tested CamTwist and it was compatible
can you please fix this issue and have Kyte playing nicely with CamTwist for all the users out there?

Inappropriate?The problem that Craig is experiencing is most likley not due to CamTwist - but more likley its how the flash input settings are interacting with Kyte. We are working on making input settings for video and audio more easily manageable and less problematic.

Inappropriate?OK I've updated to the last Flash Player, I've reinstalled CamTwist, I've tried 4 different services and in each and everyone CamTwist works just fine. Now in Kyte it still does not work, in the Flash Settings if I click on the camera icon after selecting CamTwist I see the CamTwist feed but no matter what Kyte still ONLY picks up my built in iSight - are you guys gonna fix this flash issue? I'm having a hard time justifying keeping my show on Kyte when basic stuff (or at least what I consider basic) is not working but yet on other sites it is?

Something to try--with no guarantees, just crossed fingers ;-)
1) Since you're on Mac, can you open up iMovie, and select the Cam Twist within that app, and record a few seconds of video? Then return to Kyte, and see if you can successfully choose CamTwist.
or
2) In the Adobe Flash player settings, deliberately select iSight camera (I believe it's usually called USB Video Class), close Settings dialog, record a few seconds of video. Then go back to settings, and try to set it to Cam Twist.
3) Also in the Adobe Flash player settings, you can try to set the storage capacity to "0", then try to set the camera.

Nothing worked, tried all of that even in different variations and nothing worked. CamTwist worked in all of them including the Flash settings when you click the icon but still not in Kyte.

Inappropriate?OK I made sure nothing gets stored for the Kyte site in the Flash settings (cache set to 0), go in (Safari) and set to "produce" I see the feed from CamTwist playing now HOWEVER (see image) I get this crazy little error message that doesn't let me go live or record now.
