How can I improve video performance from a DV camera as webcam source?
How can I get rid of dropped frames when using a DV camera as webcam video source? I have a DV camera successfully connected over firewire but the video suffers from many dropped frames and the audio is completely out of sync. I have not yet got to the broadcast stage so I dont think the problem is down to internet connection. Can you suggest ways to improve performance to eradicate this problem?

Inappropriate?Thx for reporting this. Connecting a DV-cam via Firewire can cause problems.
I strongly recommend using USB instead of firewire to connect your computer with the DV cam.
I can't promise that it will work for sure because there are many different DV cams out there...

Inappropriate?this is just a comment but i always thought firewire was higher performance...all my cameras and hard drives are firewire ......haven't tried firewire camera with kyte yet but ...maybe you can talk to apple's people and get firewire working.....i used firewire cameras with ichat and they were awesome
