language setting problems

whenever i click a link of lastfm.de my default language is changed to german. when i afterwards open a page on last.fm i'm redirected to the german page. this means, that i've to change the language settings quite frequent, which sucks. this is new and quite annoying as i want english as my default language, due to the fact that most german artist-wikis plain suck or don't exist. a few weeks ago it was still possible to surf pages on lastfm.de and after opening a link on last.fm everything was fine again. i assume something has changed in the way lastfm handles the geo-ip address locating, which makes it hard, to avoid getting the default territorial language assigned.

i should add, i'm situated in germany

sad I’m annoyed

I had an All-English version of last FM till now and would automatically land at the US sites I have often visited lately, where I am following discussions and activities of my FM-Neighbours and the history, music and fan-ravings of some specific artists. Unfortunately I had to reinstall my OS and now I seem not only to land for-me-less interesting German Site but I am also being presented everything in German translated from English (which I do not need) and that I have to retranslate mentally back into English _ because I am listening predominantly to American and English Rock, Blues and Jazz Artists. And translations especially of a non-professional and sometimes downright amateur kind hardly ever do full justice to the original content. This is a needless complication and annoying and takes away the great pleasure I had with last FM so far. FM is a global portal. To restrict or complicate access to a global language and that way to freely available information is in my view a regression not a progress. And sure enough I can well imagine that the English Wikis are more detailed and more accessible to most people on Earth and would have potentially more international contributors than other languages. If there are other reasons, like European Market Regulations or National Regulations or any other economical reasons, like considerations for potential streams of taxed, from Gemma monitored revenue behind this change, it would be fair to state the problem and let us (the Users) know about it. It cold save us time from looking for solutions here or elsewhere!
But perhaps, as I hope Alpha Romeo is right. It may after all be only a software problem, perhaps induced by the upgrade to a global language version of the software. I had this feeling it was server redirect and the subsequent resetting of the defaults after Set Up and during configuration that has changed and that set these default settings which you can not tweak. There are anyhow very limited user-options in this still somehow a great software.

There is a workaround one of the two problem though albeit so far only in Fire Fox. I am using fire FM, only I can't use the Scrobbler, but I do land up directly on my old site. One of the two problems solved.
