Query on the Laterloop - Mento connection
Save for Later on Laterloop seems no longer to show up on Mento. Is this normal?

Inappropriate?I have never seen this link. In another thread Greg indicated that this feature was experimental and only visible to selected users.

Inappropriate? When searching for "Mento" in "LaterLoop support" of "Get Satisfaction", I only find this thread, no other reference to Mento...

Inappropriate?Thanks for jumping in Lars!
PPM, I recommend that you update your Mento & LaterLoop extensions -- because we separated the two services and the extensions now work independently.
You'll find the newest versions here:
http://www.mento.info/share
and
http://www.laterloop.com/tools/
Please let me know if this solves your problem -- I'm very sorry for the confusion this has caused you in the meantime.

Inappropriate? Thanks Greg. I already had the latest versions. But the important part of your message is "we separated the two services and the extensions now work independently". That's OK with me. I was just surprised, because in my Mento "Explore Links" page, my "Top Sources" shows Laterloop as second source, and if I click on that link, I saw links I saved in Laterloop in June... but this list does not include links saved more recently in Laterloop. But if the connection existed in June, and no longer exists now, so be it. I will treat the two services as two separate bookmarking tool, and for slightly different purpose. Mento for sharing. Laterloop just for myself for "reading later". Thanks. PPM

Inappropriate?Ah, I see! It makes sense now... The "Top Sources" list on Mento uses the so-called referrer of a link to show which page led you to the link you saved.
Let me give you a short example: You search for "Frozen Grand Central" on Google; the first result is what you were looking for and you save that final link (a YouTube video) on Mento. In that case, the referrer points to "google.com" because you came to YouTube *via* a link Google...
So when you see LaterLoop as a "Top Source", it means that you opened a number of pages from your LaterLoop reading list and then saved them on Mento (a good friend of mine actually does the same quite frequently: http://www.mento.info/codeboaz/via/la...). This doesn't affect your LaterLoop reading list though -- it's only a side effect of "cross-posting" some of your LaterLoop links on Mento after reading them....
I hope that all makes sense. Let me know if you have other feedback or ideas for either service!

Inappropriate? You last point indeeds clarifies the matter. I just tested opening a link from Laterloop and then "re-bookmarking" it via Mento, and lo and behold, it indeeds appears in the sub-list of links "Via Laterloop". That's good to know.
Many thanks, Grex.
