Bank balances not in chart of accounts
I just set up lessaccounting to import data from my bank directly each night. When it finished the first import, I saw the balance in my account. Then when I moved to the dashboard, it showed the latest transaction, which is great. The problem is that neither my bank account total nor the latest transaction shows up in any reports except the transaction report. I would expect to see them at least in the chart of accounts.
So my question is, how do I get the full amount in my bank account to show up as income in the chart of accounts?

Inappropriate?Chris, did you set the starting balance of the account "Settings > Bank Accounts"? You'll need to check with your bank and verify the account balance for the date of the oldest transaction we've imported for that account.
If that doesn't help, can you invite allan@lesseverything.com to your account as a trusted member? "Settings > Members" If you're the account owner you can invite me in.

Hi Allan,
I just made sure all the balances were correct per your reply. If I got to Watch Money > Account Transactions, now I don't even see the last transaction, and I see just the balance before that transaction. And also, the current balance says 0, which is weird.
Also if I go to Settings > Bank Accounts, I see the correct starting balance and current balance, including the transaction missing from Account Transactions.
Looking further, it doesn't look like the chart of accounts has any income accounts, which I think is a little strange...either that or I missed them.
Either way, I invited you as a trusted member. Not in a hurry, just testing out the software with one of my small businesses until I get the hang of it. -

Inappropriate?By the way, I just checked this morning and now the transactions look ok, but they don't look so hot in the reports.
In the profit and loss, it doesn't show any regular income for the year, but if you look at account transactions, you can see the one from may.
I also realized that the chart of accounts in less accounting is only expenses, so that answers that question. I'm used to seeing the income accounts on that report in QB and SAP, so that answers that part of the question.
So really, it looks like the only thing that still doesn't look right is the profit and loss statement.1 Comment Add a comment
