Less Accounting doesn't have this concept of partially paid expenses. There are two things you can do:
1. Add a note stating you paid $500 and so the next time you pay it you can just delete the note and mark it as paid.
2. You can split the expense into two expenses and mark them as paid as you pay them.

Inappropriate?I am not quiet certain what "registered" means. In LessAccounting, an expense can be marked as paid (with a paid date) and unpaid with a due date. You can denote where (what bank account) the money came out of as well.
Please let me know if this answers your question.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate? Can you explain your request in more detail? Do you mean that you want to track if an expense has been reimbursed?

Thank you all for your comments. I am very happy testing your program. I do hate Quickbooks and LessAccounting fulfills my needs. About my question, lets say I register $1,000.for RENT as an unpaid expense. Tomorrow I just pay $500 towards my debt. I will still owe $500, How do y register this? in other words can I track payments on unpaid expenses. Thank you and talk tou you soon! From Mexico City, Eduardo Chavez -
