sales tax computation is wrong.
sales tax computation is wrong.
created a invoice with 8 items.
total amount $$15,457.00 (7% sales tax computed as $1,082.01)
but on another invoice, with 1 item ($15,457.00), the 7% sales tax is correct: $$1,081.99.
it's driving me nuts. i've recreated the invoice multiple times.

done that. Please look at invoice #2009-0303 and proposal #Q2009-0093 -
Inappropriate?Hi, sorry about the confusion. Sales tax is calculated per line item (7% x line item total). When the sales taxes for a line item have a half a cent we round up to the nearest cent. You're probably seeing these half cent "round-ups". As appose to calculating the sales tax for the sum of the line items.
Let me know if this makes sense.

Inappropriate?in this scenario, the computation of the sales tax would be incorrect, and hence unable to be submitted to the authorities.
from the invoice perspective. the customer is getting the invoice and mathematically the information does not tally, we would be getting queried on that. as it stands now, that invoice would be unusable.
i believe all sale taxable items should be added to a subtotal and sales tax applied to that, unless that practice is not applicable to other countries.

I’m unsure
-
Inappropriate?is there any update on this? we can't use an invoice that is mathematically incorrect.
I’m frustrated
-
Steve and I talked, we agree, you are right. We're going to address this issue first of next week. -
Inappropriate?I am going to fix this this weekend. It will be live on the site by Monday morning.
-
Inappropriate?hi steve, i see that the Sales Tax is correct, but the Invoice Total is still reflecting the previous computation. (with the round errors)
I’m waiting to send out invoices.
-
Inappropriate? You'll have to resave your invoices to get them to retotal with the correct values. I didn't want to retotal every invoice in the system because it might hurt some people. I can retotal every invoice you have or just selected ones. Please let me know what you'd like me to do.
-
Inappropriate?i've tried re-saving the individual items, as well as the whole invoice.
the invoice total is not updated. Invoice: 2009-0303 -
Inappropriate?i have just created the whole invoice again. with the same incorrect invoice total. see invoice: 2009-0303a
A) Subtotal (of items) = 15,457.00
B) sales tax 7% = 1,081.99 (correct)
C) Invoice total = $16,539.01 (not correct) A+B = $16,538.99
i'm sorry i have to put in specific details, but i'm getting the feeling that until i include some specific examples, i'm getting brushed away.
I’m banging my head against the wall.
-
Inappropriate?am i raising a valid problem or just going looney?
-
Inappropriate?I'll look into this right now.
-
Inappropriate? It seems like this fix did not make it to the live site, although it is fixed. I will push it now.
-
Inappropriate?alrite. let me know when i can test it out... will be around doing data entry.
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?Try it now.
