Why is my LessAccounting balance higher than my actual bank balance using the QIF manual export feature?
I use the QIF manual import feature. It has been working fine, but now my balance in Lessaccounting is much higher than my actual bank balance. Is there a way to check t his without having to look at every transaction?
Also, the bank rec feature is not working again.

Inappropriate?So I'd first look at "settings > bank accounts" make sure the starting balance of the account is right (most bank accounts don't start with 0). Then I'd look at watch money > account transactions and see if there are duplicates. Possible duplicates are highlighted in gray.

Bank account Starting Balance didn't jump out in my initial account set up... was kinda tinkering out and trying out lessaccounting.com
Could have used it pointed out on the Reconcile page. Read Allan's reply above, went to Bank Accounts page and still didn't jump out to click on Starting Balance to Edit. Only tried it because Allan explicitly stated it could be edited here.
Opportunity here to optimize user experience on 1st months usage. It can be key to Reconciling for early users. It would be a good first Bank Statement reconciliation option... even if it is a text tip with a link to the Bank Accounts page. -

Inappropriate?I am having this problem too! Just tried to import a .qfx file from our bank (vancity.com) for the first time. There are numerous duplicate entries, and our bank balance is much higher than the actual balance! I would just manually delete the duplicate entries, but there are too many (and some of the duplicates aren't even highlighted). Could there be a problem with the file itself?

Hi Claudia, the qif importer sometimes needs adjusting depending if the bank follows the correct naming conventions on the file. Can you send the file to Eugen@LessEverything.com? He can adjust the importer to work with your file.

The app won't make the transfer but it will mark possible transfers. Are you going into "Money Out > Transfer Funds"?
