Can you be a hero?HELP needed to put EASY recommendation option on my profile

People are having a difficult time sending me a recommendation.
I noticed on other profiles all you have to do is click the upper right hand corner and the word RECOMMENDATION is listed. Also, when you go to my name on someone else's connections, "recommendation" and "send a message" doesn't show there. HELP.
