Same here :-) Everytime. I invited a colleague to sign up and he cannot recommend either.

Hi all! I have been on the receiving end of this problem. More than 8 of my contacts have tried to write recommendations, multiple times, and they continue to get the error. Perhaps this will help the LinkedIn folks, but I can post recommendations and the same people who have tried posting for me, can post recommendations for others, so it seems the bug is on my end just for recommending me. Several of the people have also tried to not use the request I sent and instead go to my profile and voluntarily write the recommendation and they get the same error both ways. This has happended several times over the last three or four weeks and as recent as two days ago. I am really looking forward to a fix as I am looking for a new job and the recommendations are great to have in my position! It is a continuing problem first noticed about 3 weeks ago. It seems LI is VERY asleep at the switch...

I have the same problem when attempting to recommend a business partner. I have tried to post yesterday and today to no avail.

I have been having this problem with several people.

I also have the same problem. I could recommend left and right but when some1 recommends me, they get an error. Could you get this fixed? I also have a recommendation that got through but I couldnt get to approve it. The error "There was an unexpected problem that prevented us from completing your request." was all that was displayed

I also get same error - 'There was an unexpected problem that prevented us from completing your request' when i click on 'manage recommendation'. Also the recommendation request which I sent was not really sent when I try to request again it says there is already a pending request which I dont see in the 'Sent' recommendation page...can someone pls check and advise asap.

Same issue here. Mine has been going on over the last two months, with no help from Linkedin, despite numerous requests. The last complaint on this matter was from Vela, a month ago....with no replies from Linkedin since. I've also seen other threads on this issue in other forums -- all unresolved.

I've gone through all the appropriate channels with customer service, and I'm not prepared to wait much longer. Though I don't expect much results, my next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau to lodge a serious complaint.
