Hosted online communities for LinkedIn groups
LinkedIn groups is a great way to build vertical communities around one topic, industry, company or anything else. But LinkedIn does not help groups grow by providing them with online tools such as forum or blog. There are many hosted online solutions on the market these days but they are all require creating additional profile.

Inappropriate?LInked IN Groups are also a nightmare to adminster; you have to invite each member individually. Why not make it as easy as it is on Facebook?
I’m undecided

Inappropriate? It gets even better when you play with it for a while. LinkedIn has policies, but they don't tell you what they are, then seemingly on a random basis LI restricts, suspends or otherwise brings down the hammer of Zeus without explanation, clarification or reason above the 2nd grade "because".
Did you know that LinkedIn will not let group administrators reasonably screen applicants to their groups? Even though it is built into the technology?
I wonder when a superior alternative will come to fore.
I’m pertrubed that so much of this is out there.

Inappropriate? It's true that LinkedIn Groups is not currently set up to support discussions and other traditional group activity. However, I know that there are some developments in the works to improve the product so stay tuned! Thanks for your patience!
