Imported Connections problems
I just imported 18 new connections via a file (the suggested workaround to my previous import issue).
But instead of getting the list of the 18 new connections, with those already members highlighted in blue, I got a message that the import was incomplete, and try again later.
When I did try again, I didn't get the list of the 18 new names. They had already been added to the list, and there was no way to get the new additions alone to issue invitations. I had to search through hundreds of already imported names to manually find the 18 new ones to invite those that I just added.
=====
Plus I noticed that the list on the right of names I selected was formated incorrectly. The entries were of the form:
Firstname, Lastname (and not sorted at all)
where they should be either
Lastname, Firstname (which I think is what they used to be, sorted by last name)
or perhaps
Firstname Lastname (without the comma)

Inappropriate?Any one home here?
I'm now having this problem EVERY time I import connections from a list. The connections are imported, but I have to manually search through hundreds of imported connections on my list to find the dozen or so that I just added. This is getting to be a $**&% PITA :-(
I’m $**&%

Inappropriate? This morning I noticed yet another problem on the Imported Connections page. Folks that I invited weeks ago are back on the list. Folks that rejected my invitations years ago are back on the list. My imported connections list is now huge, with over a thousand names. I can't tell who I've already invited and who I haven't.
This morning I sent an invitation to a group of 16 of them from a company I worked for years ago, and got an error that all had been previously invited to join my network.
It seems that every day something new is broken here.
ENOUGH ALREADY!!! STOP ADDING NEW FEATURES AND GO BACK AND FIX ALL THE STUFF YOU'VE BROKEN OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS!!!
I’m ready to go postal

Inappropriate?Well, I've been exchanging a bunch of messages with LinkedIn's excuse for "Customer Service". I can summarize the discussion over the past few days as a total waste of bandwidth. THeir latest brilliant response is:
" Response (LinkedIn - Melanie (MT)) 11/07/2008 09:50 AM
Dear Bob,
I am sorry, but we have made several changes to the website over the last month and this could be what is causing your issue. We are sorry for the inconvenience you are having. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact me."
Instead of making excuses for your broken web site WHY DON"T YOU FIX THE DAMN PROBLEMS AND STOP BREAKING STUFF THAT USED TO WORK.
It sounds like you really need to hire some software quality testers to check stuff out before you turn it lose on millions of users. As it happens, I know someone like that looking for a job.
Is any one from LinkedIn still responding to stuff on this forum? The participation I saw after the "Great LinkedIn Group Fiasco of 2008" (most of these problems STILL haven't been fixed 3 months later) seems to have dried up. This is my 4th post about this problem over the past month, and NO ONE from LinkedIn has even bothered to acknowledge the problem, much less offer any solution. And given the totally worthless responses from customer disservice, ...
I’m On my way to the Post Office :-( [see last response]

Inappropriate?I've managed to verify that this is a timeout problem, and not something with my browser or computer like they keep using for an excuse.
Today I tried to add 13 new names to my Imported Connections list.
But instead of importing all 13 and having it fail again, I added them one at a time. The first one failed, witht he "Import incomplete, try again later" message, yet the name had been added to the list. It was just lost in the hundreds of other names on my import list.
But for each name after that, it worked fine.
I'm sure that if I go back tomorrow, and try it again, the first one will fail, then successive ones will work.
PLEASE RESET THE TIMEOUT PARAMETERS ON THESE TRANSACTIONS TO COVER THE SLOWER RESPONSE AS YOUR DATABASE GROWS FROM THE 3M members it had when I joined to the 30M users you now claim to have.
I’m being ignored ..!..
