Limiting who can I can accept into MY own Linkedin network? Why?

I do a lot of speaking events. Here's on that is coming up soon:

Now, if I meet dozens of great professionals, and after talking to them, they'll ask me if they could be part of my direct network on Linkedin... what should I tell them?

Right now, Linkedin placed an unwarranted cap on my account.

I cannot accept (not send, but accept!) any more invitations from trusted professionals (friends, colleagues, networking associates I meet)

What is going on? Why Linkedin is doing such a disservice to us all? I'd like to hear back please. My polite and professional e-mail(s) to CS@Linkedin.com have not been answered.

With 1380+ recommendations, I help a lot of people: http://tinyurl.com/LinkedinBio
