LinkedIn Groups max members limit reached

My LinkedIn group 'Health 2.0' has apparently reached a 3,000 member limit. I had no idea there was any such limit (can't find a mention of it any where) - but I would like to inform whether this limit can be expanded to keep the value of this group...
