LinkedIn on Windows 2000
I'm running IE 6 on a Windows 2000 machine. About 2 weeks ago, my contacts list stopped working (it will appear once if I clear cache) and I can't send invitations because the "How do you know..." dropdowns don't appear when I fill in the bubble. I've sent email to cust support (Ticket: 090411-000511) and received back "We're aware of it and are working to fix it" I can't get an ETA and can't used LinkedIn for my job search. Any Assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Inappropriate?Just had this response from LinkedIn. Disappointingly it appears they are no longer looking for a solution rather recommended users switch browser, which is a tad impractical for us.
Dear Bappa,
Thank you for contacting LinkedIn Customer Support. Excluding beta versions, LinkedIn will work best with the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox.
I would recommend downloading the latest update for IE which would likely resolve the issue, but I do know that newer versions if IE are not compatible with 2000.
The latest versions of Mozilla Firefox are compatible with 2000 and should also clear this problem up. Here is a link to download that browser:

Thanks for the reply. They kept telling me I changed something, even though it was occurring on 2 differnet machines. I gave up waiting for a response from support and downloaded Firefox. I works as advertised on Firefox, but now I use 2 browsers. Thanks for the info. -
Inappropriate?LinkedIN said they're engineers are investigating, but in the meantime we've found this fix. In your IE6 browser go to tools>Internet options>Advanced. Scroll down to about 3/4 page and under 'security' tick 'do not save encrypted pages to disk'. This seems to resolve the issue for us. Let me know how it goes. Cheers

That did the trick. It made sense as well, because when I cleared cache, pages would work ONCE, and then I'd have to clear cache again. Can't thank you enough.
