Problems inviting group members

I just created a new group. it says I can invite people by uploading a csv file with first name, last name,and email address. When I do this it tels me "We're sorry but we could not find any valid contacts to import."

And I've been having no end of "unexpected errors" when trying to do just about anything. Itried clearing all my cookies, and if anythingit's now worse.
