Still locked out of Linkedin one year later and I am a paid customer
I had been warned more then a year ago about sending invitations. Like everyone I have been told that if I acknowledge the issue and agreed to be more careful with my invitations my account would be return to normal.
In the last year I could not have used the invite feature more then 10 times and all were accepted. yet , I wanted to connect with someone on one of my groups today and noticed that the restrictions were still there a year later and I'm a paid customer. http://www.linkedin.com/in/markblei

Inappropriate?Mark, I don't see any restrictions placed on your account.

Inappropriate?Steve:
When I try and invite someone to link with me becuase we are a member of the same group. It demands an email address. Usually LInkediN uses are allowed to inid\cate that they know or are inviting someone to link due to being members of the same group..In this case it's a group I created on Linkedin.
when i went to do it I got the old you are prevented from doing this becuase to many people have indicated they don't know you. If you contact custom,er service etc.. promise not to do it again etc..
This all a result of my using the Linkedin tool that reads my email addresses out my outlook. I let it do that and mistakenly allowed it to invite everyone. there was allot more then I thought in that list.
I got the first message like almost a year ago. I contacted customer service, then nothing happens and I complained on a blog. someone told me it was taken care of and now almost a year later I still see it and apparently you don't see a problem, on my account.
I have probably only used the invite feature once or twice since I got the waring after making the mistake of letting it send to everyone in my outlook.
I don't know what to do. It's an important tool but if I can't do something and the site owners or employees can't find it/ I'm wondering how I deal with this. I comp-lied with your first request and never invited anyone outside of who I knew would accept. I have three groups and I pay for the service.
I would really like to have an unrestricted account and it's frustrating that you can';t find where it's happening. thanks for your help but I'm still peeved off over this.
Thanks for trying though.
Mark

Inappropriate?Mark, you should give it another try. The logs show that a restriction was lifted just today by LinkedIn Customer Service.

Inappropriate?Steve:
It has been lifted and my account is restored to normal. If it was you thanks very much. if it was not thank you for trying and thanks the customer service team for me as well.
Respectfully,
Mark

Inappropriate? My crystal ball says it will return. Sometime in the future, next week, next month, or next year, a few more of those "spammed by LinkedIn" people will turn down the invitations, and you'll be back with the same problem.
I know because it's happened to me several times, usually when someone decides to reject an invitation from over a year ago that they just stumbled across.
The REAL problem here is that when you get an invitation from someone on LinkedIn, your only options are to accept it, or to "decline with prejudice" declaring the sender a spammer. There needs to be a "Thanks but no thanks" option. And it needs to be made clear that when declining an invitation, the two options are very different, and one carries serious negative repercussions.
Alternately, when someone declines an invitation, they should get a second question, "Do you want to report this person for spam / abuse", and not count these unless they chose that option.

Inappropriate?I have had my account restricted for 3 weeks now, i have sent at least 8 e-mails and left numerous voice mails on the customer service number and have not had one single e-mail or call back, there are 4 people in my office who are having the same problem. Its just a shame as we were considering going for the premium package and advertising on the site but we can not commit to a site with such poor customer service.
Is there anybody out there who can help me?

Inappropriate? My account has been suspended and I don't know why. I don't invite lots of people...I'm a pretty passive user, primarily accepting invitations. I am really disappointed with Linked In's handling of this matter. It doesn't seem right to suspend my account, tell me to fill out a form and then ignore me. I've filled out the form 4 times and it's been almost 2 weeks now. What's the deal?
I’m very frustrated and disappointed
