Why is LinkedIn Group limited to 5000 members? No response from Customer Service in 3 days?!?!?
I started the Boston College Alumni Group on LinkedIn over a year ago and seen great growth in membership. We just hit the 5000 person mark, and now cannot add new members due to an arbitrary limit placed on the group.
What is frustrating is that prospective members (other BC alumni) are now being turned away when they request to be added, and I am getting emails from them about the problem. I submitted a customer service ticket on Monday and have not heard back at all about when the issue will be resolved.
Can someone please: 1) extend our limits ASAP, 2) explain why the limits are in place, and 3) explain why this is such a difficult issue for customer service to address?

I manage a group for people in the hospitality industry (Hospitality Superstars). It has just hit the 5,000 member mark and now cannot add new members due to a limit placed on the group. The group offers career tips, training and assistance to people looking for hospitality jobs.
I am receiving several requests from people trying to join the group. I have submitted a customer service ticket and I am waiting for a call back.
Can someone please extend our group limit ASAP?

The issue with the Hospitality Superstars group was resolved by LinkedIn. The group limit was extended. The group continues to offer job opportunities to people looking for hotel jobs, hospitality jobs, restaurant jobs, airline jobs and retail jobs.
