Conflict between Juice and Quickdrag extension (Dragging problem)
Juice has a conflict with Quickdrag & similar extensions. If both are installed and some text or link is dragged (not just in the sidebar, but anywhere on the page) the Juice Sidebar opens up. Expected behavior is to open a new tab with the link or text search (as per Quickdrag). Basically there needs to be an option where Juice takes an action ONLY if the text/link is dragged into the sidebar. Another way is to provide an option to disable drag completely so that the user can search in Juice using right-click context menu.

Inappropriate?HI Aronin,
Thank you for your feedback and using Juice! The next release will likely include a setting to switch off drag & drop behavior completely. We're currently testing this internally. I hope our final solution will fit your needs.
I’m happy

Inappropriate? That would be perfect - I really appreciate your quick response (& action).
Just so you know, whenever I don't like an addon or it doesn't fit my needs, I uninstall it.... this is the first time, I have just disabled Juice for the time being - waiting for an update :) coz I really want this.
Thanks again!
I’m very happy!

I'll report back here, when the update is available. :) -
Inappropriate?Just to keep you posted. We've successfully tested the implementation and will be putting it into Juice in the near future. :)
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hey thanks for updating - that's good news :)
And Wish you a Very Happy New Year!!
ps: can I download it somewhere now or should I wait at AMO?
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Hi Thijs... been quite sometime, any expected date of release of this new version? Really waiting for it.
I’m excited

Hi! We're first going to release an interim version, which addresses some minor video issues, before we roll out version 0.2, which includes a master switch for drag & drop. Considering the Chinese New Year is just around the corner, we're not sure yet, when we'll be able to push the release out. Hope that helps. -
Inappropriate?Hey thanks for the info... information is better than anticipation :)

Inappropriate?Quite sometime since the last update. Any idea on when can we expect ver0.2?
I’m waiting...

It's in the new Juice (1.0.1), available over at http://grabjuice.com - sorry to have kept you waiting, but implementation was rather difficult. After installing the new Juice, go to Firefox Settings menu, select Juice and switch drag & dop on or off. Hope you like it, let us know, if you find any other issues. -
Inappropriate?Hi Thijs - Thanks for the great update, this version is awesome!! Better late than never :) It indeed solves most (99%) of the problem described above.
I am actually using your 1.1 Beta version (with Drops) and here is a small issue:
If I turn of Drag & Drop (which I have), I am not able to drag any text/picture from a web page to create the Drop. Hope you get the point. The option we need here is that even if Drag & Drop is disabled, "Forced Drop on Juice" should still be available - maybe as an option. In this case:
- when a user drags and drops a chunk of text/image within the web page, nothing should happen in Juice (this is already implemented)
- but when a user drags and drops the same things on to Juice window, the usual Juice actions should be applied (Search, Add to a Drop etc.)... this needs to be implemented
Not sure if there is already a 'about:config' entry for this. I have tried whatever I could intuitively figure out, but couldn't find the option.
But hey, this is one of the best addon updates I have seen for Firefox 3.5 - should be a good contender for the 'Best Update' award!
I’m very happy!
