Recently active topics in Microsoft Live Labs about Photosynth

Is it possible to have a link for each photos inside the synth(just like a photo album)?
I often find that the lots of synths have some special features, e.g. history, style....
If the synth allows each photo to have a link, viewing the synth will become more informative and tour-like.

On other sites like Flickr I can save good photos as favorites and find them later. I can also view other people's favorites which is a cool way to find interesting photos. I would love to see this added to Photosynth!

This way I can remove photos that don't work or are redundant, and add additional photos to make the scene more synthy.

Use our synth's as a screensaver

It would be nice if we could REPLACE a synth after adding or removing pictures to a previous synth.
Now, if we publish a synth with the same name, it will create a second synth (and we have to delete the first one). After a warning message (OK to replace or cancel?), it would replace the older synth, but KEEP tags, geotags, comments, number of views, and favourite links (stars).
And I allready ask for the LOG to have a different name for each different version (ie: name / date/hour/min)

In Photosynth creation, it would be good to have some way of selecting a subset of images for display, either before or after synthing, with the rest merely being used as "scaffolding" which I wouldn't want to appear in the final synth (making them less prominent could be another option). Before is probably easier to implement and I'm pretty sure I’d have a good idea of which pics I definitely wanted to have in the synth, so would be happy to mark those specifically. In any case, it's probably easier to select those images before synthing than picking through the synth after.

On the other hand, it would be convenient also to be able to throw out rogue pics after the event - eg, some image is blatantly mispositioned in the synth, so it would be convenient to point at it and remove it. (Perhaps a compromise would be to have some filename tooltip or similar when you point to an image in the synth so that I can easily identify which one is "wrong" to be able to remove it and try synthing again - currently matching by eye is a fair amount of effort.)

Your photosynth application looks like an amazing program but its impractical for people with less than wonderful internet connections. Is there a way that the synthing can be performed first on the computer and then viewed so that a user can decide if its good enough to upload? In my case this would also suit me if an upload failed after waiting 15 minutes on a 512k connection.

Although I imagine many plans are in the works for the type of preview/editing/adding and resynthing features described throughout, I have a couple thoughts that might be easier/quicker stop-gaps to get started:

1) Once I create a synth, let me delete any of the images not associated with the primary synth: this would allow me to very quickly increase my synthy % to 100 without doing any additional work (assuming I am willing to accept the fact that of those stragglers didn't make it in). While in development, I imagine that the team actually needs to take a look at what was and what was not synthed in a group, because that is how the algorithms are improved or analyzed, but it still would be great if I could get rid of them if they don't make it in the group. ( I know the "delete a photo" post has already been made, but here the goal would be to delete all the photos not in the primary synth...a subtle difference, I guess, but...)

2) If it happens that I make a synth that has 2 distinct groups (e.g. I made one walking between two rooms and hoped it would synth the 2 rooms together, but they ended up as 2 separate good synths in the same group which was only considered 39% synthy), let me split the synth at its obvious group boundaries into 2 separate synths and just apply a new name to the

3) In the meantime, let me export a filename list of the photos and the "groups" they are a part of in the synth. This would at least allow me to manually build a folder with the appropriate files (i.e. the ones that would synth with 100% accuracy) and eliminate the others before I re-upload. Although this is possible to do visually, it is extremely hard, especially when you are trying to exclude 50 out of 300 files that all look very similar. This could be an "export synth report" type feature, or it could even get written as an additional log file (or part of the current log file) for each synth as soon as it is completed.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you have on this. Oh, and I would be remiss if I didn't, as others have, compliment the team on such a wonderful new piece of software.

There is one thing wrong with photosynth, a big thing. The program is AMAZING! But, sometimes it doesn't match the pictures correctly. I was wondering if there were any plans to add a manual 'fixing' feature.

What would happen is:

1. You would add the images and click synth

2. The program would reconstruct the scene and match the images

3. After it has made the synth, BEFORE UPLOADING, it would show it to you, and you would be able to fix it if there is something wrong, like a photo that wasn't matched correctly.

4. You fix it, and send it to the server

Thanks first, you guys did a great job. It'S so cool. It's awesome. Easy to use and a great experience.
I suggest to implementade a geo Tagging function which is working with Live Maps /Earth
It would be great to let work photosynth with Live maps togehter.
