colored or textured points
Extract local object color data to give it to each point.
Extract local object texture data to give to each triangle of point.
How nice will be these 2 view-modes
No answer from the team...
So, today, i look more attentively to points cloud :
first to a single 3 photos synth,
secondly at the Venice San Marco synth names "San Marco and Byond"
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=d...
and else this object :
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=1...
my conclusion :
this is only points from objects shapes... with colors, that seems to be real colors that are extracted. Yes : color rendering of objects by realistic colored dots themselves.
These are lighting circumstances during shooting that made this possible. This quality is particularly visible for painting named "It Giudizio Universale" above the main door of the San Marco basilic.
One can easily imagine that the 3D rendering will be no longer only a points cloud, but quite realistic when the system will assemble many more photos, or / and especially when textures are extracted from photos
So, are you working on texture extracting?
And when much massive computing : do the community want i give à part of my broadband and my processors power : it will be great to made a collaborative network for this (not a zombies network , oeuf corse)
