Correcting my Photosynth
When I first read the description of Photosynth and I cannot remember where, it said you would be able to add photo's to any P'synth allowing others to complete a scene. I can't even add to my own P'synths which is a shame. I shot my first try out at a hotel in Egypt and made mistakes as I was only working from a description of what would be possible and not what was possible. If I am unhappy with the results of a P'synth would it be possible to delete the original?

Inappropriate?Manny.B, I do not work for Live Labs, but I can tell you that you can delete your synth. You would do this by:
(a) signing in to your account on http://photosynth.net and then
(b) loading http://photosynth.net/yoursynths.aspx
When your synths page appears, you will see an "x" in the upper right corner of each of the thumbnail tabs that link to your synths. Simply click the x to delete the synth in question.
Something you should know, however, is that if you leave your first try at a synth online until your second one finishes, any shared photos will not have to be uploaded the second time unless you have edited them between your two synths. Just to be clear, any photo that appears in any of your synths will only ever upload to photosynth.net one time, even if it was in every synth you ever made (as long as you do not edit your local copy of the photo in between synths).
This means that although your computer will still have to redo all the calculations to find how your photos relate when you retry, you will save uploading time if you wait to delete your first attempt at a synth until the second one is online.
If you are concerned about your synth having a specific name, you can always rename the title of each of your synths on photosynth.net. You could either
1:a - rename your first attempt (on photosynth.net) before you begin your second and
1:b - give your second version the name you intended the first to have (in the synther)
1:c - delete the first version of your synth that didn't connect like you wanted (which only deletes the synth title and any photos that aren't shared by your other synths)
or you could
2:a - give your second attempt a temporary title (in the synther) that is different from the first attempt,
2:b - wait for the second version of your synth to upload
2:c - delete the original that didn't connect like you wanted (which only deletes the synth title and any photos that aren't shared by your other synths)
2:d - rename your second version (on photosynth.net once it finishes uploading) with the original title that you intended it to have
It is also possible (if you have not yet closed the synther application from your first version) to right click on it's name in the synther queue/list and choose 'Edit'. This will save you the time of re-entering your tags and choosing the individual photos that you had the first time. Simply choose a new title and add/remove whatever photos you want to form the second version. You will still need to calculate the entire thing over again, but you can save some time by avoiding hunting down the original photos all a second time this way.
I hope that helps you. As you mention above, Photosynth definitely plans to do more than it currently can.

Inappropriate?NL,
Thanks for the answers and yes it has solved all the queries I had at the time. All I have to do now is shoot enough stuff to actually get a full 360 degrees.
I’m thankful
